A thread that might be of interest to this board is:

Ugarit, El, El Shaddai, El Elyon, etc., and Other Similarities and Contrasts

Apologists usually shrink away from topics that have the word "Ugarit" in them, however, I would like to see a good discussion(pro or con) about this topic.

Or perhaps "Ugarit" offers too much evidence, and therefore isn't conducive to conversation on these boards.

The truth, the whole truth...and nothing but the truth?

From the article:

"So why the persistent idea that awe is inextricably linked to theism? And are "scientific awe" and "religious awe" fundamentally different, or deep down one and the same?"

My opinion: they're the same, but dressed up in very different clothes.

The panentheism and pantheist boards might be of interest to some here.   Both are common waypoints for those disillusioned with "God the Father."

We have a new member Irishgirl52 reaching out on the Agnosticism Board.   Seems to be sort of Anglican or Catholic or not quite anymore.  Please stop by and at least say hello.

Contemplating Unitarian Universalism for UUs and Formet UUs might be of interest.

Why Argue Against Christian Scriptures is a fun thread as Christians trample all over each other trying to respond to an atheist (moi) who doesn't like being wretched.

The thread formerly entitled 17 of 24 has been moved to Discuss Judaism and has been retitled:  Is There a Plain Meaning to the Text?

Feel free to continue the conversation there, if you are so inclined.  The thread has been heavily moderated by several hosts, so has lost some of its fluidity, but lots of good possibilities for dialogue on this topic.

Thanks,

Kwinters' thread Humanist_on_the_confederate_flag is a hot topic and should get many comments there by those that may not be so humanistic.  You may wish to keep an eye on it and help Kristi out.  Note on HTZ only the first 8 ROC apply.  No hate speech, no harassment, no violence advocacy but other than that speak plainly.
