Ann - You pointed back to your post 149 which I responded to in post 150 - here again is our policy as it relates to your accusations:

Didn't you notice that our policy is that parents and or relatives or other adults - or even the congregation - decides this?   Do you actually absolve the adult relatives involved if the matter is not reported to the police, for example?   Don't you realize that any adult can report the matter to police?

See the actual links to our policy.

Policy links:

www.jw-media.org/aboutjw/article23.htm

Excerpt:

"Additionally, the victim or anyone else who has knowledge of the allegation may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so."

www.jw-media.org/aboutjw/jwb02e.pdf

Excerpt:

Dr. Infante: I think that's a very good policy, that the elders essentially would take charge of

the situation of reporting the abuse to the authorities if there is no adult in

authority, any other adult in authority to do that, to protect the child.

www.jw-media.org/aboutjw/jwb03e.pdf

Excerpt:

Our top priority is to protect the victims. And we want to make sure that

whatever steps need to be taken are taken, both by the elders, by the relatives, and

by the congregation in general.

So, Ann - I repeat - do you absolve the other adults who know of the allegations from responsibillity to report the matter to the police?   The links specify which adults: the relatives, any other adult in authority, anyone else who has knowledge of the allegation, the victim, or the congregation in general.

Our policy is quite clear - of course, each case will be different for reasons which are obvious to me and I hope to you also.

Not only have you failed to answer my questions in response to your post 149, but also you continue to fail to answer Marken's simple question - which I will now quote so all can see you have failed to answer:

"Could you share  with  us  the  policy of  the  organization  that  you  feel  forbid  elders  to do  what  is  correct?" - Marken's question.

Of course, I shared with you our policy which shows elders are directed to take all steps necessary to protect the victim.

This excerpt bears repeating since you keep ignoring it:

Excerpt:

"Our top priority is to protect the victims. And we want to make sure that

whatever steps need to be taken are taken, both by the elders, by the relatives, and

by the congregation in general."

Your quoting confidential letters alleging that our policy was not followed in a specific case does not change what our policy, clearly and publically stated, is.

Ann - I did read your posts 153, 158, etc. - and you are welcome.Smile

If you do not wish to discuss our publically stated policy with me - that is up to you, of course.

I hope you have a good day and enjoy God's blessings.
