[Quoted deletions removed] Absence of evidence is frequently the same thing as evidence of absence. And very good evidence too. If something exists and is known to exist, there will be evidence of it.

[deleted quotes removed.] I would have thought that the biggest threat to Baha'is is Islam. Apparently Baha'is are persecuted in Iran by muslims.

Aka_me: "sorta like people who want it boths ways... to believe in something greater without committing to naming it." I feel no need to name whatever it is, if it is. Wouldn't claiming to be a member of a religious group that believes in a god, whether "tracendent", "transparent" or "tranquilized" and being an atheist be exactly the sort that you seem to be arguing against?

I can not remember ever reading anything hypocritical in this thread, at least not from the atheists. And I do pay attention.
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

I was never in it... but facts be damned you know what you're talking about eh?
there's enough money for free college and health care, it's not a matter of HAVING the money, it's a matter of priorities. and this country feels death and murder of foreigners through war is more important than the health and well being of its own citizens.

Of course, that just reinforces what I was saying. You don't care about Christianity and you don't want to defend it. You hate atheists, and you're looking for pretexts to insult them. |
