the vast majority of the combined groups were too apathetic to help the project succeed, that's not an opinion or a lie... it's REALITY by the very fact that the project is dead.

So who gives even the tiniest fraction of a damn? What the hell is wrong with you? Why won't you just SHUT UP about it?

The vast majority of atheists do not care about the AAI and have no interest in "being counted."
Most are content to ignore both religion and atheism and live their lives as atheists.  Most have enough to do with their families, work and leisure activities that any thoughts of God or religion have no priority.

No one voted. It was not a site where people voted. And you still have not answered my question.

Look, Aka_me, if you have an objection to atheism, there is only one way you can express it - prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a god exists. Just stop screwing around and do it. If you can't do it, anything else you may say is trash.

What always surprises me is the vitriol aimed at atheists. The people on this board are harming no one. And yet theists come in here and insult.

Insult total strangers of whom they know nothing.

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

True, I've known some, personally.

didn't say anything at all about atheists at large.

You didn't say anything at all worth saying. Come back when you have something.

You seem to have this obsession with atheists not being as committed to atheism as believers are to their faith based myths.

There is a simple explanation for this lack of commitment by atheists.  A rationally derived position has no need for a passionate defense, or proselytization as any reasonable person can find atheism simply by careful analysis of their religious beliefs.  There is no need to "Protest too much" as there is no belief to be defended.  I can understand how this irritates believers in the irrational, but that is the way of life.
