... I at least feign the belief in the theoretical possibility that I'm wrong and others are correct.
lol
Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not retract anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me. Amen.

We know. To whatever degree our arrogance rises to such a level, we at least have the taste to suppress it in the name of decorum.

I thought this was implied in my previous post but let me state that I have an unfeigned belief in the possibility that I'm wrong and others right.
See? Was that so hard? My opinion of you has risen - not that you should worry about my opinion of you, of course.
Not hard since I have long felt that way.I never considered Adelphe's interpretation impossible, simply not the most probable.

I, btw, have always considered you sincere, willing (and able) to listen to and consider and fairly critique opposing arguments, in addition to advancing and developing good arguments of your own.

You drew the short straw and got the first post of the day; it's actually an honor. I thought you were missing JLB's humor, and was trying to explain his meaning.

LOL fixed at least the first one so now it's somewhat more clear you're not the "guilty" one.
