Fog:
So you believe that the majority should be able to limit the rights and freedom of a minority based on prejudices without a shred of scientific evidence to back it up? I thought so.

Not only do you want people to give up their religions with nothing to gain in exchange, but you also want LGBT people to go back to accepting inferior status because of your dubious sociological theories - likewise with nothing to show for it. What exactly is the incentive then for people to agree with you?

What's the 'atheist' reason for seeking to suppress homosexuality?

And what's an 'atheist' rationale for supporting monarchy as a preferred form of government over a democracy?   I just don't see the connection.

I've encountered anti-gay atheists before and their arguments never really make any sense. They seem to be based on the notion that people don't have sexual orientations and instead will choose sex partners and raise families according to how the state legislates: only if the state makes heterosexual marriage the exclusive legal norm will straight men want to form partnerships and raise families with straight women. If gay men and lesbians are given civil equality and their relationships and families are given legal standing equal to everyone else, then there's apparently no incentive for straight couples to marry and raise children and society collapses.

Then there's a whole mess of evolutionary psychology theories that just leave one feeling dirty when one encounters them and are best ignored. Evopsych is a collection of just-so stories for pseudo-intellectual perverts who can't get laid.

It demonstrates that what some people consider a monster and others consider a god to emulate was merely a man with his good and bad actions.   Remember, it is the good that attracts people to one and if then one does bad and disappoints them they will depart thinking less of that one than before they had met.

As for the decline ofmonarchies, aristocracies, and established churches, why does there need to be a spooky Jewish conspiracy?

Isnt it possible that the scientific advances of the 17th and 18th centuries and the economic transition in the same period triggered corresponding ideogical and political changes:

- the newdiscoveries in science led to a way of thinking that preferenced reason over superstition, inquiry and exploration over received dogma. This led people to subject all aspects of society to the same scrutiny as the natural world.

- why should some people have power and wealth and influence based only on hereditary right? How is that rational? Shouldn't political office be open to the people best suited for the job? Why should people blindly submit to arbitrary laws and tradition? Isn't it rational for people to have a say the how they are governed? Why should people who invest their property and take risks in the economy not have a say in the political decisions that affect their business? Why should people be forced to support an established religion they don't believe in?

- having answered these questions rationally, they then sought to put them into effect politically, thus leading to the bourgeois revolutions, democracy, and and equality before the law?

Is that nor possible?

If she learned about them from that hate-site she learned another lie about it.  That site claims the Protocols are originally of Russian authorship rather than the French it is known to be.  The editor of that site is an historically ignorant lying bastard with a passion against the Jews comparable only to Mel Gibson's father.
