What if we had rules?

that everyone must debate using

most strict haiku form

would words be chosen

more carefully? to make all count ?

where is the poets soul?

kay, it's definitely time for bed.

i'll try in the morning

Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason, my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not retract anything, for to go against conscience would be neither right nor safe.  Here I stand.  I can do no other.  God help me.  Amen.

Edward Bentley
studied verse intently.
He remarked,  Lest religious haiku bury you,
why not throw in the odd clerihew?

So for example -

Paul
invented the Fall.
He was one of the great menaces
when it came to misreading Genesis.

I thought the rhythm pattern was supposed to be 5 - 7 - 5.

Anyway....

I prayed for deliverance from the hard world of facts and logic to the happy land where fantasy and prejudice reign. But God spake unto me, saying, "No, keep telling the truth," and to that end afflicted me with severe Trenchant Mouth. So I'm sorry for making cutting remarks, but it's the will of God.

Material world

Always such a mystery

Explain what exists.

Jesus had two dads, and he turned out alright.~ Andy Gussert

“Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions…for safety on the streets…for child care, for social welfare…for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law.

If someone says, “Oh, I’m not a feminist,” I ask, “Why, what’s your problem?”
