Certain models would have God not being compassionate towards the Dinosaurs.    Then again, certain models have many Dinosaurs turning carnivorous - which certainly would merit their destruction if true.

I'm sorry, but I don't get it. How could the dinosaurs have turned carnivorous, if Satan wasn't there to turn them?

Ezekiel 28:13-15

13 In E´den, the garden of God, you proved to be. Every precious stone was your covering, ruby, topaz and jasper; chrys´o·lite, onyx and jade; sapphire, turquoise and emerald; and of gold was the workmanship of your settings and your sockets in you. In the day of your being created they were made ready. 14 You are the anointed cherub that is covering, and I have set you. On the holy mountain of God you proved to be. In the midst of fiery stones you walked about. 15 You were faultless in your ways from the day of your being created until unrighteousness was found in you.

And since Ezekiel 28:13-15 shows that the cherub that later became Satan was in the service of God as a 'covering' cherub over the Garden of Eden...unrighteousness was not found in him until after he became the covering cherub over Eden....which would have been long after the dinosaurs were gotten rid of became extinct.

I think that it's pretty sad and pretty unbelievable that there are so many healthy, powerful, and healing foods that I have learned about from watching "The Doctor Oz Show"...but unfortunately, most Americans from their childhood on up, have only learned how to eat what is essentially equivalent to 'garbage'...and are basically in a 'slumber' when it comes to not having a clue as to what that kind of food is doing to their bodies and to their health. It's really sad.

Ed - Thank you again for the link to our 1951 "Awake!" article (12/22/51, pp. 12-16) - dated but fairly accurate considering how long ago it was published!

A few points I will note from it.   It provides evidence for a larger model of the ark by providing evidence for 22" for the cubit, hence dimensions of 557' long x 91'2" wide x 54'8" high.   I will stick with the conservative estimate of 450' long, 75' wide and 45' high - acknowledging the ark was likely significantly larger.

It notes the ark = Hebrew tebah (chest) distinguished from Hebrew aron (ark) for the ark of the covenant - since tebah, not aron, indicates designed to float in water.

It accurately notes the Biblical kind is more general, perhaps even genera, than species.  It accurately reports on evolutionist Dobzhansky's mutation experiments and evidence for variation into species - noting that no new kinds were ever produced.   I might add that Dobzhansky also noted the phenomenom of equilibrium - essentially variation around a mean leading to equilibrium in variation within any variety, notably the fruit fly (Drosophila).

It accurately reports details on three kinds: horse, dog and man; noting that the many varieties of horses, dogs and mankind could have originated from the few on the ark - and notes how.

It also notes that Dobzhansky did not know all the causes for variation - science now knows it is not simply point mutations in the DNA itself - but also involves tandem repeat sequences which operates 100,000 times faster than point mutations!!!  Not to mention the relatively newly discovered mechanisms of microevolution in the broad category of epi-genetics - not simply methylation of DNA, but also methyl and acetyl links to histones on the chromatin - formerly though to be an inert backbone of the chromosome!

It notes the basic divisions of life that would be brought onto the ark - mammalia, aves (birds) and amphibia.  43 genera of animals, 74 of birds (not including web-footed) and 10 of amphibia (reptiles and snakes) - this would be the basis for the 127 kinds reported in our Bible Dictionary.

It cites Bishop Wilkins model with 72 kinds of quadrupeds and ..."" vegetation="" was="" permitted="" to="" until="" after="" flood="" note="" our="" older="" article="" does="" quote="" scripture="" as="" often="" most="" current="" articles="" though="" certainly="" there="" are="" crucial="" quotes="" included="" p="">

[Edit - Hmmm - don't know how that happened!   The above paragraph via notepad:

It cites Bishop Wilkins model with 72 kinds of quadrupeds and [less than] 200 birds, unfortunately repeating the Bishop's error in assuming carnivores were on the ark.  And the estimate of 9,500 [cubic?] cubits of hay for the herbivores.   I suspect additional foods besides hay for animals - see the Genesis account - all kinds of food that can be eaten is specified - not simply hay!   However, the Genesis account shows only vegetation was permitted to be eaten until after the flood!  Note our older article does not quote Scripture as often as most of our current articles - though certainly there are crucial quotes of Scripture included.

OK, it was the "less than" font that triggered this forum's mistranslation!]

Btw - George Bush is quotedSurprised

No, not the President!Wink

Bush estimated 43,413 tons carrying capacity for the ark, ample space for 18 x 20,000 men and food for them for 6 months. [Note: the ark grounded in much less than a year - see the Genesis account]

The article estimates 200 to 250 kinds on the ark [inlcluding some kinds of "insects" whose eggs would not have survived the flood.]

It gives the example of all varieties of fox migrating from the ark throughout the earth (Note land bridges now submerged) and speciation (aka micro-evolution) as a result of subsequent geographical isolation.

Newtonian, I couldn't make heads or tails out of that(no pun intended), Smile but I was wondering if you saw my "Origins of Life" link in this post:

Also, would you like to share your 'expertise' on this topic("kinds") in either the "Evidence" thread in this forum...or the "kind" thread in the Origins of Life  forum.
