Actually, since they never name the STATE that the Simpsons live in, and Texas is one of the many that indeed has a "Springfield", it is possible Flanders LIVED in Texas.

Irrelevant, hundreds of arguments can be made on where it is or isn't, thus ultimately no argument can be made past it's somewhere in America, in a state with a Springfield.

However, the best argument I know of places it in Louisiana... as a signal is sent to the aliens, Kang and Kodos, shown on a map-and it's in Louisiana.   But I could refute this argument as well.

So... sorry there, but Texas remains a candidate.
