Now all we have to do is decide WHOSE "good news" is THE "good news".

Yes, exactly!

The Scripture is talking about the good news in connection with Jesus - it naturally includes the good news of God's Kingdom (Matthew 24:14) and all that the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ as the King of God's Kingdom.   E.g. my previous post-

Points of difference:

1.  Mt.28:19,20 - teaching disciples to observe all Jesus commanded, incl. Mt. 5:44 to love our enemies - as per Is. 2:1-4 - learning God's ways and walking in God's paths incl. learning war no more.

2.  Mt. 6:9,10 - God's will is to be done on earth as in heaven when God's Kingdom comes - hence no death (Rev. 21:4) but living forever on a paradise earth when the meek inherit the earth (Mt. 5:5; Ps. 37:10,11,29).

Christian "good news" and JW "good news" are two different things.  In the 'eternity' aspect, JWs say we're to be corporeal and live forever on this planet which God is going to change into a permanent fixture, but Christians will be in heaven with God.  There'll be no 144K straw bosses.

WTS 's death sentence of rejecting their message, their 'good news'has nothing to do with God and Christ's message and GOOD NEWS.   Therefore to those who have no biblical knowledge nor theological background, WTS's fear mongers unsuspecting disadvantaged  individuals into accepting lock stock and barrel (around their necks) the unique, errouneous, extra biblical teachings   as described on the other thread:

The GOOD NEWS  about JEHOVAH AND JESUS AND GOD'S KINGDOM  are scripture PURE divine inspired scripture,NOT falliable human "possible explanations" that change due to error...so ... how ungodly to hook on the later with what most Christians know and accept, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and King and His return will right all wrongs and put and end to all wickedness!

WTS Dishonestly gift wraps their conjecture, presumption and "possible explanations" AKA 'SPIRITUAL SWILL' with the uncomplicated common knowledge of God's kingdom blessings by Christ that all Christians preach and promote ...and then WTS  tells everyone if you reject their hidden agenda labeled "GOOD NEWS"  you are going to die!

WHY IS OUR MINISTRY SO IMPORTANT?

8 Always remember that even if people do not listen, our ministry honors Jehovah. Also, he uses the preaching work to fulfill his purpose in these urgent times. Soon, God will judge people by how they react to our preaching. Those who do not accept the good news will be destroyed.  March 15,2012 Simplified English Version

Could you imagine any of the following linked Christian publishing organizations making such an arrogant, blasphemous thread title statement of the WTS?

HOW DOES  WTS's "POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS" COMPARE?

This is  ECPA org  mission statement:

Nevermind that we believe we're the only one's preaching "the good news".

Truthwillset - thanks for concisely expressing the point of disagreement that is this thread's theme.   However, you and others have not done as goodtobehome suggested - read the context of our article.

Most importantly, no one has actually quoted the obvious Scriptural teaching you seem to be disagreeing with!

Those who say that obedience to the good news is not essential for survival on God's judgment day are directly disagreeing with this Scripture:

(2 Thessalonians 1:7-10) . . .at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels 8 in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, 10 at the time he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder in connection with all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among YOU.

Newt. You are misrepresenting what the bible really teaches again...very dishonest.

The GOOD NEWS  about JEHOVAH AND JESUS AND GOD'S KINGDOM  are scripture PURE divine inspired scripture,NOT falliable human "possible explanations" that change due to error... so how ungodly to hook on the later with what most Christians know and acccept, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and King and His return will right all wrongs and put an end to all wickedness!

Note the pathological rationale that perpetuates WTS stated thread theme:

WATCHTOWER 1952 6/1

Actually, to secure equal opportunity for everyone in the absolute sense would involve far more than merely letting everyone hear the message. There are many influences outside the individual’s control that affect his stand toward the truth.

Wicked parents that keep the message from their small children is only one case. Oppressive rulers that keep it from the peoples under their control is only another case. There are more.

In one heathen country preaching has been done for many years, with practically no results so far as those steeped in the native religions are concerned.

Is it their fault that they were born and raised in an environment that warped their minds beyond the reach of the truth?

Some nationalities or races seem to have traits of stubbornness. Others are marked by qualities of humility and teachableness.

More of the former reject the truth; more of the latter accept it. Not many wise or powerful or noble get the truth—it is not God’s purpose.

He deliberately chooses more of the foolish and weak and ignoble to put the worldly great ones to shame. (1 Cor. 1:26-31) So it is not just wicked parents or dictatorial rulers that influence a person’s destiny. Other things beyond his control, such as the nation or race or station of life in which he was born, are weighty factors.

Evidently so.  In 1939 after invading Poland, the Germans rounded up all the intelligentsia, teachers, and priests and shot them.  Obviously, like the Germans, God feels smart people will always be a pain with their impertinent questions and observations.
