I thought of this very thing when I heard on the news recently of the man who killed his wife in Pakistan (Afghanistan?) because she gave birth to a second daughter instead of a son.  Did he really think she had any choice in the matter?  What superstitious rot was this?  Had he been truly educated in a proper school rather than a madrasah, if in fact he received any education at all, he would in all probability have been aware that it was HIS sperm that determined the sex of the child.  Now that infant has neither mother (dead) nor father (jailed), and the man has severely damaged his soul due to the lack of education.  Just a rambling thought....

Ye have been forbidden in the Book of God to engage in contention and conflict...
