Aka_me what qualifies a being as small g god? It's like the difference between religion and superstition. Religion is what YOU do. Superstition is what THEY do. YOU have a big-G God. THEY have a small-g god. |

Your god is no more worthy of a big "G" then any other god. You god is a middle eastern tribal god. Nothing more. Not more important, not a creator of the universe more then any other creator god, and there are many creator gods. You god is a small "g" just as all others. The word "god" is not a name. And other gods are not less real gods, just because you don't like the idea.
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

Last night on TV I heard on a four-person news panel, the denying that there is a god. The conversation went something like this for little over a minute. "Do you think there is a god? I don't. How many people in the United States still think there is a god? None of my friends think there is. Religion is definitely failing. What proof is there that there is a god?" Etc etc etc. But then 1 out of the 4 said, "I'm not going against God on national TV." (They have to have at least one person condoning there is a god to play it safe.) Honestly, I don't know how that got through. It was amazing!!!! yeah !!!! |
