Precisely. The Iranian youth shouted Allah'u'Akbar on the roofs of Tehran during the 2009 demonstrations against the "Islamic" regime and its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. Though not a Muslim, I find the following nashíd by Sami Yusuf (a British Muslim of Iranian Azeri descent) beautiful and meaningful. It's called Asma Allah (Names of God) and it is recited in Arabic (with English subtitles). Sami Yusuf basically just mentions some of the many names of Allah mentioned in the Qur'án. It ends with a glorious repeat of Allah'u'Akbar which may appeal to the Western "modern" audience better than some of the more traditional nashíds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhwdEtO5fJE With kind regards, LilWabbit

Blessings dear friend, Lilwabbit, That was really beautiful, heart-warming and spirit strengthening, to hear it sung like that. Ibn

Why is this thread on this board? It's not about Islam. Disclaimer: The opinions of this member are not primarily informed by western ethnocentric paradigms, stereotypes rooted in anti-Muslim/Islam hysteria, "Israel can do no wrong" intransigence, or the perceived need to protect the Judeo-Christian world from invading foreign religions and legal concepts. By expressing such views, no inherent attempt is being made to derail or hijack threads, but that may be the result. The result is not the responsibility of this member.![]()

It was moved here, with agreement of then host on this board, some time ago. I have already straightened the crooked perception that it has more to do with Islam than the politics. There was no need to move it here. Salaam Ibn

Howdy The reason that Islamism is on this board is because "Islamism (Islam+-ism; Arabic: الاسلامية al-ʾislāmiyyah) also Arabic: إسلام سياسي ʾIslām siyāsī , lit., "Political Islam" is a set of ideologies holding that Islam is not only a religion but also a political system; that modern Muslims must return to the roots of their religion, and unite politically".

This is a political philosophy, not a religion and not condoned by Islam. It has nothing to do with Islam. This board is about discussing Islam.

If it is about political system then Islamism should be on politics board. The real politics behind it is much deeper and nothing to do with Islam. When bearded Libyans join politics, shouting "ALLAHU AKBAR", with aims to kill fellow citizens, to have politocal power, they are not called "Islamist" nor are they in "Islamism" but they are called "rebels". The moment they do the same against non-muslims, they would certainly be called "Islamist" and their politics "Islamism". Peace Ibn

That's an excellent point. The majority of the victims of radical Muslims are people in Muslim countries. Their agenda is about revolution, not Islam. You don't kill your own brethren to further the faith.
