At first it was just pictures of kids. Then the BIG RED STOP SIGN. Doesn't anybody know how to put a STOP to these ADS? We have our charities. We give to them. And if you don't, these pix aren't going to help. I didn't mind the photos so much, but I do detest this STOP SIGN. What has B Net come to? An advertisement or a forum? There are ads on the side, ads before you can post, ads after you try and post, ads when you make a correction. Non stop. Isn't it enough? Someone must be making money on these ads. I certainly would not send any money through them. The money probably goes to Fox anyway. I have my Mac Firefox set on blocking ads. It doesn't help.

I've had the same exact feelings, and they're a nuisance to me because they slow up moving around from page to page. Another "fine" creation by Murdock and company. |

Absolutely. Few people over here are posting since all these ads came up. You can't edit or move around or answer a post without STOP coming up and all this jumbled stuff horning in. Sometimes I did stop and look at the children, wishing I could just bring one home, but what they want is money, I guess. But what really bugs me is that STOP SIGN! That is just disgusting.

I agree River! What I have noticed more of are derogatory ads targeting women primarily. There is the decrepit old cartoon gal asking how old are we really...the chick in the white bikini that porks out and slims down before our very eyes...the gal spraddle-legged in the tiny bikini, bordering pornographically advertising weight loss. It is like an assault to come here and try to discuss spiritual matters while being bombarded with ads promoting only unrealistic carnality. Fortunately, you can right click on the ad and block all images from the site (unless they are Adobe Flash like the blasted stop sign). This is done through Mozilla - and you can always go back in and unblock the site later. Cheers!

I agree! I'm sure there are plenty of people besides myself who sponsor children already. Am I supposed to sponsor a new one every time I go online? That would get rather expensive. |

I haven't seen the STOP sign, but I have seen the ads Heidi is talking about. I largely ignore them, but sometimes that's no easy feat. Luckily most of the time I see links to other Bnet pages. Oh, and, those 'flat belly' tips never work. :) I haven't tried them, but nothing else in those ads ever seems to work so it's not too much of a stretch to think these won't either. :)

Heidi, I completely agree with you. Those ads you mentioned are disgusting.

I don't think the powers that are here understand that they've chased many people away, including myself since I used to be a regular poster here. When it was announced a few years ago that Murdock was buying BNet, many speculated it would go downhill, but I don't think even most of them had any clue how bad it really has gotten to be. But I doubt it makes one iota of difference to Murdock as long as he has money rolling in.
Let me just add that there's another site I've been involved with that is much easier to get around and is also Jew friendly (not BeliefCorner), and if you're interested, you can write me a message here or e-mail me at metis1945@yahoo.com |

I use Mozilla Firefox, and have the add on, Adblocker - and I do not EVER get 'stop' sign ads at home on this site.
Popups are a major pain otherwise.

I've started a thread in the 'Beliefnet Knowledgebase' group about the ads and pop-ups...I'll let you know if I get any replies.
