We had a live tree with no decorations, just some tinsel and a sun on the top.  After Solstice we put it outside and then planted it at the Spring Equinox.   I have tons of evergreen trees in my yard!

You keep that up and you are going to have a forest.......which I actually think is a super idea. Laughing

Yeah, It started to look that way.  Many of the trees were planted along the side of the yard, and we have a big back, but even so, after a while we decided to plant smaller plants instead and use an artificial tree, which could come back every year.  Nothing wrong with that.

I think it is a great idea. I tried a Norfolk Island Pine for a few years, It was beautiful and I could keep it indoors, but it eventually passed away. So I just use downed branches for my indoor tree, and decorate out doors. It is what works best for me.
