Would Jesus have shown Megrahi compassion and sent him home to die?  Should Christians who say they are Christians first and Americans second support the decision of the Scottish government?

“Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions…for safety on the streets…for child care, for social welfare…for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law.

If someone says, “Oh, I’m not a feminist,” I ask, “Why, what’s your problem?”

KW,

Please don't view "Christians" as monolithic, nor lump ALL into a single group.

I speak for no other Christians than myself, but I WILL refer you to my posts on the "Lockerbie Bomber" thread.

Democrats think the glass is half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

No.....you miss the point of Christ altogether.......

Jesus would show him true Life......and that would be the end of it.

So you pass over all that "silly" Jesus talk about Forgiving "70 x7", and "Blessed are the merciful", and rendering unto "the least of these".

Wow, you must whiz right through your Bible study.

I don't know - but if this is focused on the Scottish government then probably it needs to be on the World News Board

If this is another rant against Christians then maybe it needs to be on one of those boards.

I'm not lumping anyone together, I'm asking individuals who think of themselves as Christians first and Americans second as to what Jesus would do.

Would Jesus show compassion, and do they, as Christians, support the decision of the Scottish government.

Where in the Christian scriptures does Jesus deny anyone compassion?  I can think of how he is said to have treated the tax collector, and the the alleged adulteress and his story of the dying man on the side of the road.

Where does Jesus spit on someone and say 'let him rot'?  Where is that passage, exactly?

In MY view, Jesus would show compassion, as it showed it for those who arrested Him, and those who crucified Him.

Others may differ.  They are not my concern.

Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

Fundagelical Christians don't have a problem with War or capital punishment, so that question is answered.

Roman Catholic moral theology teaches against capital punishment, and compassion toward criminals, pursuant to Saint Matthew chapter 25.

"Wesley told the early Methodists to gain all they could and save all they could so that they could give all they could. It means that I consider my money to belong to God and I see myself as one of the hungry people who needs to get fed with God’s money. If I really have put all my trust in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, then nothing I have is really my own anymore."

Hallo KW, nice to "see" you again! Um.... why is this on USNP rather than Christian Debate? Is this about the American reaction to the Scottish government, or are you excluding the rest of us by inviting ONLY Christians who happen to be American? If the former, it may not be a bad idea to change the title to make it more relevant to USNP.

If the latter, I'm inclined to move this to Discuss Christianity.

Thanks,
