Switch to Forum Live View difference between theravada and mahayana

I know that the mahayana is mainly practiced in China and Tibet while theravada is in Sri Lanka and Thailand but what are the other main differences between the two

The main difference is that Theravada is a single school, while Mahayana is a catch-all word used for many different schools. The various Mahayana schools are rather different from each other.
