Never head of it...given that the region it hails from is now under the yoke of Islam and people would be harassed and probably killed for even trying to bring back Mesopotamian religions I don't think we'll see anything close to the source anytime soon...

Hey, looks like my other post got deleted in the move but I'll post some more links to similar groups.  This is a new list that the mod of the Canaanite Paganism list on yahoo has created as a place for all Mesopotamian/Levantine/Khemetic/Mediterranean recon faiths to have discussions and I thought I'd pass it along.  Also, I identify with Canaanite Paganism as expressed at Ugarit in the LBA, and there are groups out there called Natib Qadish (Sacred Way) and Qadesh Kinahnu (Sacred Canaan).  No real centralized authority or temples as of yet.  I've not really run into Mesopotamian reconstructionists per se except for the House of Sumer, which is a Sumerian Recon site.

Hi, all--

I'm starting an interfaith group called the Date Palm Forum, for discussion of Ancient Near East Paganism (in general). It is open for all, including but not limited to (and many of these titles overlap):

-Alexandrian (as in city of Alexandria)
-Assyrian
-Babylonian
-Canaanite/Natib Qadish
-Carthegenian/ Punic
-Christian Paganism, ChristoPagans
-Crete/Cretian
-Cyprus/Cypriot
-Egyptian/Kemetic
-Greek/Hellenismos
-Hittite
-Hurrian
-Jewish Pagans, Jewwitchery, JudeoPagans
-Levantine
-Mesopotamian
-Nabatean/Petra
-Palmyran
-Phoenician
-Rome/Roman/ Religio Romana
-Sumer/Sumerians
-any Mediterranean, Middle, or Near East Pagan, Polytheist, Reconstructionist, NeoPagan
-Wiccans, Christians, Jews, Pagans, and more who wish to discuss incorporating Near Eastern deities, practices, magic/magick, culture, themes, et cetera are welcome.

If you're interested, sign up or let me know. If you know of anyone who might be interested, feel free to pass this email along.

Here is a Sumerian reconstructionist group: Temple of Sumer at http://www.templeofsumer.org

Here is a Babylonian reconstructionist group: Gateways to Babylon at http://www.gatewaystobabylon.com/

I once read about a group in Turkey trying to revive the Hurrian religion, which was adopted and spread by the Hittites over much of the Ancient Near East.

My affiliation is more Levantine, and I find the websites Natib Qadish http://canaanitepath.com/introduction.htm and Qadash Kinahnu http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Lofts/2938/ to be good resources in general.
