This is an unlikely topic for this board and I apologize if this is considered spamming; I do recognize that there are some of you that are of the nature that you read this sort of book for the mental stimulation of different thought.  That being said, your presence would be valued in this discussion.

I have started a group to disucss Tom Harpur's book for those that have read it and are interested in a cordial conversation of the ideas presented here. Serious debate is welcome under the principle of deep respect and courtesy to those we are debating.

Harpur proposes that with the information he presents that the New Testemant can be viewed and interpreted in a new light. My question remains is this possible? Or do the scriptures he proposes will be viewed in a new light contradict the light or truth he believes? I am still a skeptic on his ideas, yet very much a skeptic on mainstream Christianity's ideas. Thoughts from all will be appreciated.

I have not yet posted any topics on the group, am hoping to do so this evening.

The group can be found at: http://community.beliefnet.com/index...7&group_id=654 At least I think so.

I think this belongs in Christian debate, not Jewish debate.

Ask it to be taken down. I put it here because there are people here who may have well read this book and be valuable to the group.

I apologize for the offense.
