I first want to acknowledge that all the religions and philosphies on beliefnet have a debate board where there is room to criticize and debate beliefs. This is good and I am glad they are available. I learn more about beliefs often from debate boards. No religion or philosphy is free of criticism nor should they be in my opinion. I acknowledge that I see especially on the Mormon board that people do go to other board's discussion forums instead of their debate forums to criticize a belief or philosphy. I am asking these questions out of curiosity:
Why put so much energy in to proving maltheism wrong? Why have most anti-maltheists gone to the discussion forum to criticize and debate maltheism instead of the debate forum? Is it simply because they did not know where the appropriate forum for debate was? If so why did they not ask someone: Where is the appropriate forum to debate maltheism before posting their criticism on the discussion forum? Is it rudeness or a very passionate need to criticize maltheism? If it is a passionate need to criticize maltheism? What drives this passion?

I understand anti-muslim rudeness. Sometimes it is just racist.....others it is fear bore from terrorism...others religion teaches them that muslims are children of Satan. I understand anti-mormon rudeness. Most of the rude anti-mormon posters who post in the Mormon discussion board are from fringe splinter "Mormon" groups. There anti-mormon passion seems to be fueled by the feeling that mainstream Mormonism betrays them. Etc Etc.....

So what fuels anti-maltheists passions?

1. What would happen if you failed to change our mind?
2. What would happened if most the world became maltheists?
3. What would happen if we just stopped worshipping God?
4. What do you think would happen if you became a maltheist?

I transfered above post from old board.  No one ever responded to the thread, but it would still be good some day to get an answer.

Whichone,

I gotta hand it to you for tenacity. You keep trying. I, too, will be interested to see whether this gets more response here than it did in the old debate forum.

At least one good thing about the new site is that I will not have to keep bumping it to have it on my history list.

bump....sneaky you can't just bump things to keep them alive.  You get an error message saying your post is too short.  It has to be at least 10 words? long.

What the heck is Maltheism, anyway?

You guys have, like, five members worldwide?

I have no idea how many maltheists there are in the world.  I am very sure it is a minority belief and treated so negatively that few people would admit to being maltheist.  That is part of the reason that I wonder why some people who don't like maltheism spend so much energy on criticizing it and trying to prove us wrong.   If you believe that there are only 5 maltheists worldwide, why waste any energy in going to our community site to criticize us.  I am glad to say that since the Beta site started people who want to criticize Matheism are now correcting going to the discussion (formerly known as debate) to criticize maltheism.  Some people hated maltheism so much they felt a need to invade our community site to insult us and shout us down.  I started this thread in the old site to help direct them to the proper site to criticize us and out of curiousity.  If one believes we are so tiny as to be non-existant where does the angry passion against us come from?   Maltheists believe that God exists and he is evil.  There is no doctrine or organization after that and no prostelytizing.
