I dont feel like I am 40.
I feel younger..like I am 32. I am stuck at the same kind of job I had when I was 19.
My life...yikes..ruined? No. I still see future in it.
I would like to improve various points. Perhaps I need to make new goals and new friends?
Career wise...who cares...not I says the Frootloop.

Hi Fruitloop!
I think you have a great attitude - life is constantly presenting us with new people, new opportunities, and new experiences. No need ever to think you've done it all, or that you can't start something new. IMO, age has nothing to do with your outlook on life, it's all in the attitude. (Having said that, I also don't think there's anything wrong with being content with who and where you are, either!)
And speaking of attitude, if I answer your question from a mental standpoint, no, I don't feel 40. If anything, my 40's have taught me how young I can actually THINK. Being open to new things. Pursuing the things that I want out of life. No longer worrying so much about others opinions about me. Not sweating the small stuff!
Now, physically, is another issue. There are definitely days when my body feels 40 - or more specifically, 48 3/4! Some days the arthritis in my knee and ankles lets me know most definitely how old I feel - the days of getting up off the floor in one fluid motion are out the door, sister!!
My best,
CG

Some days, physically, I feel 60. Other days, I feel 16. I think that is true at any age. I love my forties too.

My body feels 40+. My mind has grown from experiences & I think different than when I was younger, in some ways, so I think I have to say that my mind is 40+. But my spirit isn't. I don't "feel" 47. I always get a little start when I write it or say it. I don't know what age I feel. I just feel "I am" as always. Ageless, but younger. Definitely younger. Can't say "when" though.

Short answer: No.
Long answer: Don’t know. What is 40 supposed to feel like?
I know I won’t get any taller (darn!), like to think I’ll get smarter (don’t we all) and take great pains to keep from getting larger. Haven’t aches, pains, conditions or illnesses that slow me down, so guess I’m pretty lucky in the health department.
Folks I encounter like to rattle off a litany of ills from which they suffer (not sure why I am constantly treated to this). Some are younger than 40, most over 40. It’s all attributed to ‘getting old’ and never from a lack of self-care (with admittedly, some ailments self-inflicted). Can it be true that I hit the physical health jackpot? Hmmm. Don’t believe so.
I hafta remind myself that I am over 40.
Irene.

Hi,
I'm 46 and its hard to believe it. I don't feel like it most the time. I've had a lot thrown at me throughout my life, but when I see my all of my children in their 20's then I know I have to be in my forty's. But I didn't freak out like a lot people I know when they turned thirty. I did a little at thirty-five, but really. I just love my life and want it to go on as long as possible and learn and experience as much of it as I can. We have too much wasted time.

I am 43 years old. Mentally, I feel much younger.....LOL physically I feel much older. I guess my young mind experiences cognitive dissonance when I presented with evidence of my age. For example: Yesterday, we stopped at an ATM for me to deposit a check and get some cash. I was only out of the car a total of 5 minutes, but I forgot where my husband parked the car. I was scanned the whole parking lot to find his car. In that moment, I felt all my 43 years. Stupid things like seeing a friend that I have known more than a decade then having to go through an entire list of names in my head......then LOL still not being able to remember her name.....I also feel my 43 years when young people are discussing things that I have never even ever heard of before. I took my best friend out for her Birthday last night. She thought the waiter was very attractive. I said, "I can't feel an attraction to him because he is so young he looks like a kid to me. It feels like pedophilia to be attracted to anyone under 25 years old." She replied, "No way he is at least 28." I disagreed saying, "He is probably around 22." We asked his age he said, "24". My friend said, "Wow, we have been friends longer than he has been alive." Okay, now I feel every year of my 43 years.
