I wrote an article that stereotypical marriages are rough on a marriage.  Marriage takes courage - not confidence.  Confidence is a guess of what might happen next.  Courage is saying you're sticking to it no matter what. 

But even in traditional marriages, if we get legalistic about it, we'll be a mess.  What do you think?

Frankly, I don't get your point. Is a stereotypical marriage one in which the spouses do not care about each other?  

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize what you heard was not what I meant...
