I saw this on Greta Christina's page on Facebook. I befriended her some time ago and she does post some interesting this from time to time about the plight of atheists in the USA.
freethoughtblogs.com/greta/2012/03/21/at... This was at the end of the article: "You know what atheists have to do to avoid offending people? NOT EXIST." |

No doubt. Fortunately, there's nothing wrong with offending people. I'm offended twenty times a day, and it doesn't do me any harm. |

If someone is offended by our existence then, by all means, they should be offended as often as possible.

I am a Humanist. I believe in a rational philosophy of life, informed by science, inspired by art, and motivated by a desire to do good for its own sake and not by an expectation of a reward or fear of punishment in an afterlife. |

If some one is offended by some one else's beliefs, or lack there of. They can sod off. It is no ones business who believes or does believe. Regardless of the subject.
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhlvdPCalXM DarkAntics' comments on this speech were interesting. The preacher certainly does want to persecute atheists. |
