                                               DAY OF REASON RALLY

I plan on going to the Day Of Reason Rally taking place in Washington D.C.  on March 24th and to the National American Atheist Convention on March 25th & 26th.

I want to know if any of the other Hopelessly Damned in this forum plan on going?

I can't go. I have been to an American Atheist National Convention before. You'll have a blast.

Do atheist groups ever have rallies in Sweden?  If they do, I'd probably go.  Let me know if you happen to stumble across any word of that.

I don't think there is a neccesity for having either a Day of Reason Rally or an Atheist Convention in Sweden or in the "Stone City".  The unharmonious and irrational effects of religion have little effect on the wellbeing and flourshing of Sweden.

Unforunately the same cannot be said for the U.S.  which ironically was founded on the "novo ordo" principles of reason and separation of the secular and divine in order to bring about haromony and the virtues of a secular society.

While in theory there should be no "religious test" with regards to holding political office in practice there is a competition between republican primary candidates as to who is the most-true right wing Christian.

It raises the interesting and purely speculative question Who Would Jesus Vote For?

One thing that does seem to be clear that Jesus The Christ aka Yeshua ben Marium aka Isa bin Marium aka Jesus bin Allah-YHVH, so far as the  Right Wing Christian Conservatives of the Mormon, Evangelical, or Roman Catholic sects is that   Jesus The Christ aka Yeshua ben Marium aka Isa bin Marium aka Jesus bin Allah-YHVH would NOT vote for that psuedo-christian,crypto-muslim Hussein.

What does seem clear is that  Jesus The Christ aka Yeshua ben Marium aka Isa bin Marium aka Jesus bin Allah-YHVH would NOT vote that godless socialist, big brother, nanny state, big gov't democrat Pres. Obama.

What does clear among the current crop of republican primary candidates is that  Jesus The Christ aka Yeshua ben Marium aka Isa bin Marium aka Jesus bin Allah-YHVH would be a lassiez faire capitialist ala John Galt-Ayn Rand.  Both of which ironically WERE ATHEISTS.

Which validates the idea that politics-economony makes strange bedfellows.

Your post shows otherwise.

I agree

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

Howdy Folks

It is clear to me that

There is a NOT neccesity for having either a Day of Reason Rally or an Atheist Convention in Sweden or in the "Stone City".

It is also is equally clear to me that there IS a dire neccesity for a Reason Rally in the United States and Washingtoin D.C.

Yes there is a dire need for a "Reason Rally" in the United States. Reason seems to have disappeared in most of the country.

Those who need it won't show up, and those that don't need it won't bother.
