So I guess you mean "justice" for those heteros? Your constant gloating lets us know what your real aim is.

Yippee!! Nice to see justice prevail. I hope this continues nation wide.
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle Never discourage anyone...who continually makes progress, no matter how slow. Plato.. "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives" Jackie Robinson

There are 30 states with a doma. Maybe around the edges wide. Gloating that the will of a free people was subverted by judicial fiat. Shallow victory. Dang. I just fell prey to your template. No, you're gloating because Marriage took another hit. It doesn't really matter how that was accomplished.

The topic of same sex marriage in this thread is secular civil legislation. Anyone who wants to discuss DOMA and other religious themed dos and do nots you should go to the appropriate forum. Isn't there some Christianity forums around here. BTW DOMA was legislated by an ideology political expediency congress, not the will of the people. www.hrc.org/resources/entry/doma-poll-2011 DOMA Poll 2011. Public Opinion and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) ... 51percent of voters oppose DOMA while 34 percent favor it. Independent voters ...

I'm not trying to get on a religious theme, but as you yourself have revealed, SSM is not about what it purports to be about. Knowing this, that the issue is a simply tool to destroy marriage, the acrimony involved, the entrenchment of positions. After this current spate of threads dies down I don't intend to respond to them further anyway. Except of course to remind folks of what this thing is really all about, should they go into lala land.

You are not trying to impose your religious views on civil legislation? then what are you doing? I have revealed nothing or are you talking about a different thread altogether. I left a post over there this am explaining the cut and paste I employed to refute what you said I said. You are the one bringing up abortion and homosexuality and how your brand of religion views this and then demanding that your religion should be writing the laws. We not discussing homosexuality and your moral objections to it, that does belong on another forum, same goes with abortion. I have never tried to disabuse you of your convictions nor should you be trying to apply your personal convictions on laws governing this country. There are a few problems with that in a secular nation. We are discussing civil legislation that is extending marriage rights to gay citizens. There are no laws that say you cannot practice your religion and there are no laws that say you have to marry a gay person or obtain an abortion or not. That is your free agency to do with as you like.

You are not trying to impose your religious views on civil legislation? then what are you doing? I have revealed nothing or are you talking about a different thread altogether. Are you not the same person as Find 1 answer on the other thread? Sorry, but you can't have 5 threads going on a topic and have us ignore what was said in one thread, when we click on another. If I make a racist comment in one thread am I not going to be a racist board wide? I left a post over there this am explaining the cut and paste I employed to refute what you said I said. Yes you did. You are the one bringing up abortion and homosexuality and how your brand of religion views this and then demanding that your religion should be writing the laws. We are not trying to write laws; you are. We are trying to keep you from doing that. I have never tried to disabuse you of your convictions Ooops. Yes, you want to disabuse people of the conviction that marriage can only be one man and one woman. We are discussing civil legislation that is extending marriage rights to gay citizens. Not any longer.

My/our real aim is equality. Nothing more. Nothing less. Sorry you don't think it's a good thing.

Gloating that the will of a free people was subverted by judicial fiat.
Nope. It was "thwarted' by the Constitution and it's guarantees of equal treatment before the law, and its "INALIENABLE right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness". Again, very sorry you don't think those are good things, or that they should be applied to all citizens. you're gloating because Marriage took another hit.
Your marriage hasn't been affected by either the ruling or by other people's marriages in the first place. So no "hit" to marriage.
Try again. Do better.
