Not sure if anyone watches CNN or have heard of Roland Martin. He's a commentator on CNN. He made comments yesterday during the superbowl that GLADD says is "fire-worthy"...is it warranted or is this group reaching for something that isn't there? www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/06/roland...

Protagonists for equal rights for minority groups sometimes go overboard in their zeal to protect and defend. I'm against limitations on free speech --- within limits, natch. I didn't see Beckham's underwear commercial, so I can't say anything about it. As a general rule, however, I think a country's international standing can be determined by the mens' underwear that it sells. www.holelong.com/en/product/2007-9/Evil_5174035170.jpg As you can see, we have nothing to fear from China.

OK, thanks. Mr. Beckham could use a shave and lots of laser treatments to get rid of those ugly tats. Wasn't that number by the Animals ?

First of all, I despise the term "political correctness" because people who use this term really mean, "I want to be as disrespectful or racist or sexist or homophobic as I damn well please and what's the problem?" Do I think it is OK to talk about smacking people who don't live up to Mr. Martin's idea of proper masculinity? No, I don't. Do I think he should be fired for it? No, I think he should apologize and let's move on. He tried to be funny and it wasn't.

In full agreement with you, Ms Topaz. I agree about smacking people, but I also found the image of a bunch of beer swilling, big gutted, burping and farting guys watching that ad and imagining themselves prancing about in a pair of Beckham's briefs very humorous, indeed. I think that's what Martin was aiming for. Jim

Let's not forget the pickup truck and Red Man chewing tobacco. I'm getting a mental image. www.freakingnews.com/pictures/77000/hillbilly-Oktoberfest-77284.jpg Bet they aren't voting for Obama. They can do write-ins for David Duke or whoever the current Grand Wizard is.

News Flash: The Federal Appeals Court in San Fran has just ruled "Proposition 8" to be unconstitutional inasmuch as it violates the Equal Protection clause of the US Constitution. Prop-8 passed in a referendum in California; it limits marriage to one man and one woman. It was developed to overcome California's marriage equality law; thus far ca. 18,000 same sex couples have been married until Prop-8 was passed.
