Just wondering! What was it about this article that you found so meaningful?
The sciences of this world are droplets of reality; if then they lead not to reality, what fruit can come of illusion? By the one true God! If learning be not a means of access to Him, the Most Manifest, it is nothing but evident loss. (Baha'i Faith)

I am not great with words but as best as I can explain it, this has given me a useful understanding of why I find it so hard to be fully open with other people. This is something I have always questioned but have never been given a useful answer that can help me change. Usually I have been told to look into my past and find this or that but all those things are what "happened" and they are not what is happening now. From my learning, blaming the past is avoiding responsibility. Of course you may not be responsible for what happened then - I wasn't - but I am responsible for what I do with it now and how I move forward with my life. This understanding gives me a practical way to change rather than spend a lifetime blaming the ones who hurt me for my inability to love freely.

Well expressed, Aeolus, and thanks for the website link! There appears to be some valuable articles there.

Nothing wrong with your use of words. Very well put ... I agree that it is useless to 'blame' the past thereby avoiding responsibility for the present. However, I see the past useful in that those 'things' that have happened of a negative nature can carry with it the cause for defects of character that continue to repeat itself because it may cause one not to grow in spiritual maturity to the degree possible. Until we look to the past for how this process took place and right the wrongs it has caused, with such things as broken relationships and such, we may continue to be troubled, even when we try to take responsibility for today's actions. As I see it, what could happen is that we continue to repeat recognized mistakes over and over and not know why it keeps getting repeated. Just some thoughts! Sorry for the delay in posting! Here's hoping it makes sense to you ...

Thank you Namchuck - it took me a while to write that! :-) Yes he seems to be an interesting person who has experienced much and has much to teach. I saw on the site that I can contact him. I might do that. Let you know what happens! Thank so much for your advice Seefan, everything that I can get towards my learning is hugely appreciated. I am very happy I came to this site.

Hi. I contacted David Samuel on the enrepreneur monk site and it was a very interesting experience. He replied he was very fast and I asked him some questions about my personal search and the answers he gave blew me away because they showed an understanding of 'me' and my search that was uncanny and beyond anything I have ever encountered before. He also asked me some questions that made me dig deep into myself and after pondering those for a couple of days I contacted him again and again he responded ver quickly and with great understanding. He works on a basis of "Don't believe anything I say just trust enough to test and prove it for yourself" and he only teaches from what he has experienced both of which I like. I will keep coresponding with him and let you know how it goes but all I can say is with the knowledge and understanding he has and the ability to put complex concepts into simple ways I can understand he seems to be someone who has perhaps experienced a deeper truth and if I was to try and put a name to what I seek I guess it would be truth.

Thanks for reporting back, Aeolus. I enjoyed your comments. Good to hear that David Samuel emphasizes the need to find out for oneself. Do you think that his emphasis in this regard is 'via positiva' or 'negativa'? I think it important to know this.
