Trying to learn

My future husband is Hindu so I am trying to learn more about Hinduism but I'm not really sure where to start....

I know a bit, but I feel like since religion is important to his family that I should try to learn as much as I can. 

Any good websites or books?

Imho, the best is to start with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinduism
It's a comprehensive introduction and suggests further resources.

hinduism.iskcon.org/
is well structured and covers a lot of aspects in an easy to read way.

Read the Gita and the Upanishads to start. (or selections of the Upanishads, there are many but there are several great translations of the main ones)


 


Also learn about what the rituals mean in case you go to a temple.


 


What sect of Hinduism does your husband belong to?

Yes to Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita - most definitely. But, I would also add "Idiot's Guide to Hinduism" - no kidding. It's an easy read and fairly comprehensive. It's a good resource for someone just beginning to explore Sanatana Dharma. I have my own copy, and I love it.
