There are often people in the west now who like to start by a "new age" way of learning things which is to self-learn everything here and there and put them together into a pot and call that a path they "found".  This is not right if you are looking for "Taoism".

Taoism is Taoism and it is already a full system by itself. If you mix other things into Taoism, it is not Taoism anymore.  If you want to drink water, you must only put water into your cup.  If you add some coke or sprite into the water, it is not water anymore.  Taoism cannot be blend with any other relgiions on earth and it can never be.

The lineage of Quan Zhen Sect is one of the worst so-called Taoism lineage in the world because they ahve mixed Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism into one.  The problem with this is that they are going very weird and crooked.  It's not making any sense.  The main reason why these lineages exist and get popular is not because they are right, it's because the government of China is making big bucks with them, linking these people together to make money.  China is a weird place, lots of hidden secrets that you will never understand and know.  Have you heard of the "Taoist license" in China?  Yea, $200 RMB for one and you can now take this can call yourself a "legal Taoist" and you can go beg on the street LEGALLY with it.  What the heck?  Taoism beggars?   Obviously China is getting into a crappier shape as this goes on.

Beware of what you are seeking for, Taoism is Taoism and only Taoism itself.  Taoism is already a full system by itself, and you can never mix anything into it.
