And if you think churches are hurting, consider fraternal organizations such as the Freemasons and Elks etc.  They are definitely in danger of extinction, moreso than organized religion.


People just aren't 'joiners' any more, and that goes for organized religion.  There are a great many people who consider themselves spiritual or at least 'not atheist' who despise organized religion.

Yes ... In general, Offerings given to and through Local Congregations have remained fairly generous and have even increased ... But Congregational financial support for Synods has been on a Decline for a long time ... (and then some Congregational Leaders go on to COMPLAIN that they need more Help / Attention FROM "The Synod" ... !!!)
