The Discuss Atheism board is a dialogue and debate forum where members of any faith or tradition may come to find out more about atheism and secular philosophies, debate issues with atheism and secular philosophies that they may have, and discuss differences that may exist between their religious ideas and atheism.  All members may participate and may not be personally challenged for their beliefs.  It is not an atheist community club.  That can be found on the Atheist and Secular Philosophies board.

Discussion guidelines: Members may not establish local rules of evidence, or limit topics to those acceptable to atheists.  This is a general debate board where all topics are welcome. All members are encouraged to start new threads when appropriate rather than disrupt an existing thread with a new discussion topic. Please remember that homosexuality and abortion discussions are restricted to the appropriate forums.   It is expected but not necessary that atheists will participate in most topics to provide the atheist point of view on the topic of discussion.  But as in any discussion the assumption that an argument is defective must be supported, not merely asserted.  A member's religious beliefs must be assumed to be valid for them.  If they choose to discuss certain issues, those issues may be discussed from an atheist point of view but the beliefs of the member must be respected.

The following from the ROC will be strictly enforced: Courtesy: You agree that you will be courteous to others, even when disagreeing, and even to those whose beliefs you think are false or objectionable. When debating, express your opinion about a person's ideas, not about them personally. Do not make negative personal remarks about another's age, disability, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, sexual orientation, intelligence, character, appearance, health, mental health, education, or any other personal characteristic.

A couple of threads and many posts are missing because of discussions of other members.  These discussions are not permitted by the ROC whether or not the member is mentioned by username.  I remind all that motives for posting, are specifically prohibited by the ROC.

Please note this is a discussion board open to all members.  It is not an atheist community board which can be found at Atheism and Secular Philosophies.

There is also an Agnosticism community board

If you do not want theist comments on your posts, start a mirror thread on A&SP, or Agnosticism as appropriate .

A&SP and Agnosticism are discussion boards, but discussions are closed to religious members.

There is also a learn about or Welcome Atheists board, which technically is not a discussion board, although some discussion is permitted.
