i'm planning on going to an Eckankar talk on reincarnation in a few weeks. i'd never heard of Eckankar till recently. what little i've read so far makes it sound a lot like Unity Church (which i attended till pretty recently), or Science of Mind (i get their monthly guides). am i right? if it is, i might look for a group to get involved with.

ECKANKAR is a very unique path to God. At the talk you're attending you might even be given techniques for viewing your own past lives. And that's one of the wonderful things about ECKANKAR. More than just absorbing a whole mass of theology including "Jesus having died for your sins" it gives practical Spiritual Exercises for verifying everything you hear.
As a next step, I'd say it's a religion well worth checking out.
