These people have quite a lot to say about India and the Hindu faith.... I don't know much about either, so have come here to ask those who do know, please would you look that forum over and evaluate their POV from your greater-than-my knowledge?
For some reason I haven't yet discovered, they seem to think 'civilization' began only about 4000 BCE - I had read somewhere about a civilization in the ?upper Indus valley which I thought was still older.
It seems the Creativity Movement is a white separatist organization. I am not sure what they have to do with Hinduism. They are certainly entitled to their views, but I am not going to waste my time reading their information, knowing from the get-go that it is probably disparaging.
Maya, of course you know that I'm 'prejudiced' myself, LOL! But yes, that is a question some of us have had - and the point I wanted to raise. When does 'tolerance' of others' views turn into allowing hate speech? Which is the higher goal - allowing all to speak, or preserving civility in interaction?
I will point out that most 'white' people are as revolted by their posts as are you and I. They *do* represent only a miniscule number of peopel - and most of their 'leadership' writes from jail cells where they reside due to convictions for violent crimes against other people. Their aims are no less inimical to world peace than al Quaeda's or HAMAS'....
I do NOT understand any reason to tolerate them, no.
Free speech is one thing, but Beliefnet is a religious website and when we say something that is rude and violates the rules of conduct then our posts are immidately removed. How then can there be a whole forum where people are allowed to say such things?
Even if Beliefnet doesnt agree with it, I dont think it falls under free speech that they allow them to take up space on their server.
If a racist makes his/her own website somewhere else then maybe it´s free speech, but I honestly think it´s rotten of Beliefnet to allow them to have the forum.
Of course it is a very small minority who are racist, still it´s very uncomfortable.
