Is the Metropolitan Community Church involved in ecumenical contacts with any other churches? Were many of the members raised in other churches? Do they have good relationships with others churches, such as Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, etc? From their name I take it that the church is basically an urban church.

I am a Catholic and I was just wondering if there is any communication between the Metropolitan Community Church and the Catholic Church. I read that the pastor of one of the Metropolitan Community Churches in our sate was a former nun. Since the MCC is a relatively new church I was wondering how many of its members were raised Catholic. It seems like there is more movement between the Catholic Church and Protestant churches than existed in the past.
