ANGELS
Not every one will see an angel. So very rare they say. For angels they are special and seen by some in dreams. In life's many weary travels when things they don't run clear, A hand from out of nowhere seems to show a friend is near. God's angels are not feathers always flying above in white. An angel smiles so sweetly and shines a love as bright. The blessed gestures out of nowhere are at times dreams come true. They pass so very quickly by leaving great changes too. So never think that just because your eyes have never seen the feathers spoken of by some who seem to know the dreams. Open your eyes and look around you and see the marvels there. For angels they are blessed yes, and they are everywhere. poem and painting by Paulette (Melissa) |

River mom ,when I paint an angel , I really don't know how it will turn out .I start with an idea and just go from there .I wanted something childlike and this little one took shape. .. The bird was an afterthought and then I knew this had to be an angel of music .The night I finished the painting I crawled in bed with pad and pencil and wrote the poem to go with it .
Annie, I too battle with emotional ups and downs. I think this trait is something creative individuals have a lot in common . You will write again , its all inside you waiting to come out .Sometimes just taking pencil and paper in hand cocooned in a quiet place and just writing thoughts that come randomly in your head without thinking about whether it makes sense or not just might start the process for you . I know how hard it is to try to pull something out when its just not there believe me .I hope the dry spell is over for you soon . |

Although this isn't exactly a poem, I think it might fall into your category here. My mom passed in May of 2007 at 94 years of age, so this piece was written some time ago but the impact of the events is still with me today.
My 86-year-old-mom broke her arm a couple of months ago which involved the usual, numerous trips back and forth to the doctor for check-ups. After one rather lengthy visit, we solved the lunch problem by going to Furrs. "Not one of my better ideas," I thought as I tried to follow the Furrs helper to a table, hold my tray and my mom as I watched her wobble through the maze of tables. We had barely sat down when she reached for her silverware and knocked over her glass of water. The lady sitting in the booth behind Mom simply handed her napkin over the seat so I could wipe up the water; then she handed me a bowl for the ice while her husband went for a towel. I gratefully accepted their help and commented that I knew angels were here on earth. Even though Mom was eating with her "wrong" hand, we made it through the rest of the meal without incident. Shortly before we finished, the couple behind her got up to leave. As they passed our table, I looked up to thank them again for their help and the gentleman reached down, retrieved our ticket, and hurried away. I finished my meal through tear-filled eyes and was more convinced than ever that "Sometimes, there are angels among us if we only look to see them." m |

Guardian Angel
An intense storm where warm and cold collide, As if to mimic your feelings and the turmoil deep inside; Thunder, lightening and pride closely coincide. Sheets of lightening bring life way up high, While a bolt of lighting connects the earth to the sky Allowing angels on the earth to walk encouraging you to open your eyes. A cry for help answered in the most disconcerting way, Your guardian angel sent in human form as if to say; I am the answer to the desire that you did Pray. Captivated and mesmerized by the storm’s extreme fury, Paralyzed by a performance that cause others to scurry, Ironic tranquility manifests and releases your worry. A memory, painfully faint, a simple reminder, A time before your heart felt like it was in a grinder, Sent to you, an angel, a muse, and a guided soul finder. Insecurities lifted and faith was renewed, You felt loved and you gradually grew, It was short-lived for the task was now through. Your heart and your soul this angel was successful to reunite, When triumphant in their duty, they simply fade away into the light Not gone, only waiting, til you need them again, a shimmering star in the night |

dear "m"
That's very touching for sure . I really do believe that sometimes ordinary people are led by their gardian angels .Its a beautiful example of how strangers can impact other peoples lives just by living by example .Thanks blessings Melissa |
