I was in a good mood.  Now, I am really depressed by the news that Fox News has bought out beliefnet.  I feel really sick.  :(  I don't have any respect for Fox News.  I question a lot of the so called news now a days with things like wall to wall coverage of the Anna Nicole funeral saga, 24/7 coverage of the Britney Meltdown.....etc and other inane crap.  Fox News is the worst of the lot to me.  Fox News has not relationship to fair and balanced coverage despite their slogan.  Little Brother is taking over the world.  Orwell is wrong.  It isn't big brother that we have to fear, it is Little Brother.  He is taking over every corner of our life.  He is stealing our identities.  He is robbing us of our privacy.....etc etc etc.....these massive media merges frighten me.  Is there any independent sites left any more?  I have greatly enjoyed beliefnet for more than 5 years.  I have no idea how much effect Fox News ownership wil effect the site.   If I feel repelled by the effect of their ownership of beliefnet, I hope I have a chance to say good bye to my friends before I leave.

might be a real good idea to evacuate this site before the bushzi's and christofascists take over and make all non right wing beliefs boards and articles little more than distorted propaganda of the fundy critics of them.

moyzo1,

Do you know of an independent message board where maltheists can meet without being censored?

Not really. I know that some of the gay groups I am in are on google after they got censored way too much on yahoo.

If they turn the boards into a right winger only zone then I would probably recomend moving there at least until we find a better place.

Ohmigawd.  Once Fox owns Beliefnet, the evangelicals will never leave any of the other religious forums respectfully alone.

What reason would Yahoo have to censor gay groups? I'm not questioning your words at all. I just want to know what bullshit excuse they gave for doing so.

Only thing ever heard from them far as I know was terms of service violation. A lot of the groups that got banned were fetish and kink groups though.
