"The so-called ‘sexual liberation’, so applauded by the young, could actually have been a great step forward. However, what we see at present is not progress but a collapse of moral standards. The increasing tendency of boys and girls to sleep together, because they can’t find any better way to pass their time or experience pleasure, is very detrimental to their psychic life. They’ve hardly met, they don’t know each other, they don’t love each other, and they make love… for want of anything better to do, as if it were no more important than playing cards! And then, just as they would after a game of cards, they separate and begin again the following day with others. Such behaviour is very serious, and not because they’re disobeying rules invented by a few moralists; it’s serious for them; it’s not morality or moralizers they are harming, it’s themselves. There is nothing reprehensible in the sexual act itself, evenwhen it doesn’t have the aim of creating a child. But it’simportant to know all the entities and forces that come into play during this act, so you can give the act spiritual meaning and direction; otherwise, all you do is destroy yourself."

"Everything you ask for you will one day receive. Yes, you will receive it, whether it’s good or bad, because, according to the laws established by cosmic Intelligence, every request must be granted. These are laws of physics and chemistry: the law of correspondences, the law of affinity, the law of the echo. And be careful, for, eventually, you always attract what you wish for. If you ask for burdens and end up being crushed beneath their weight, there will be no point, afterwards, in your blaming other people or the Lord. It is up to you to know the long-term consequences of your requests. It’s normal to wish for things, to want things, but you must also think seriously about how things may turn out, for then you will understand that once certain wishes have been realized you will be disappointed, unhappy or ill, so it would be wiser to abandon them. The first thing true disciples of initiatic Science must learn is that there are certain things they should desire and others, on the contrary, they should reject with all their might."

"God has given all creatures life, but it’s up to them to make efforts to become more alive each day. To become more alive means to give your light and warmth. It is so good to meet people in whom you sense everything is alive and full of light! We love a tree for its fruit, we love a spring for its flowing water, we love flowers for their colour and scent. In the same way, we love those who open themselves to give something pure, luminous and warm. So, learn, then, to cultivate this source of life within yourself. Make a habit of smiling, of looking at others with love; try to extract a few particles from your heart to send to others. You are the one who will feel richer and happier.
All religions have recommended fasting as an exercise in purification. But fasting must not be understood only on the physical level. If impurities have taken hold in the physical body in the form of physical problems, a physical fast will be able to get rid of them. But impurities can also take hold in the astral and mental bodies, in the form of coarse feelings and desires, and erroneous thoughts and judgments. Now, these thoughts, feelings and desires are dark entities that force humans to absorb the foods that they, the entities, need. Yes, thoughts, feelings and desires are living entities. In order to get rid of these entities, people must stop feeding them; in other words, they must try hard not only to cease entertaining inferior thoughts and feelings but also to replace them with pure and luminous ones. If they deprive these entities of their food, the entities will be forced to fast and, faced with the threat of death from starvation, they will leave. That is also how you should understand fasting, by transposing it to the different planes of being."

"Even the most sophisticated machinery is incapable of giving us an idea of what human beings are. There will always be something more to them than what we can see. This is why they have no knowledge of themselves yet and why medicine doesn’t know them either. Yes, medicine has no understanding of the creatures it works upon! How many doctors tend still to see human beings as machines! They are unaware that humans are inhabited by forces, entities and intelligences capable of producing elements in their organism that were not there previously. They are unaware that, beyond the physical body, humans also possess subtle bodies: the etheric, astral, mental, causal, buddhic and atmic bodies. They do not understand thought or will, much less the soul and spirit. So, how can anyone imagine doctors will be able to find the right way to take care of people? For the sick to be healed, it is not enough to deal with their physical body; you have to reach those elements and entities that are higher up, in the subtle realms, and on which the good functioning of the physical body depends."371d36d75e05eda735858f8e467be99c

"Observe yourself clear-sightedly and object ively in order to know which of your faculties are most developed and which are most lacking and need to be acquired. Once you have achieved this, here is some advice: start working with your most developed faculties, and then, from time to time only, try to remedy what you lack, what’s missing. Don’t force yourself to work with your weakest faculties, on the pretext that you need to develop them. It is better to look for the strongest factor in oneself to act with and then, from time to time only, try to remedy one’s inadequacies. If you embark on tasks you are clearly not cut out for, if you abandon your riches to attend to your poverty, you won’t get very far, and you will become discouraged. Do the opposite, work with your talents, gifts and faculties, because riches attract riches, and once you have gained a great deal you can focus on what you are lacking."371d36d75e05eda735858f8e467be99c

"The journey we set out on, a very long time ago, will not end
with our present life. This life is only one stage on the path
along which all beings have had to travel since they left the
bosom of the Eternal. And how many different regions they will
have to visit before returning one day to the Source!
We must never forget we are only travellers on earth. But even
amongst spiritualists, very few are capable of keeping
constantly in mind the idea that they are travellers and must
therefore never stop anywhere to put down roots. The road to be
travelled is long, very long; if you are to continue in the
right direction, you must continually observe, study and draw
conclusions. And if you don’t want to lose heart, you must keep
your eyes fixed on the goal ahead."

"Whatever our external conditions, we can always feel free in our inner world, the world of thought. But when we wish to express ourselves on the physical plane, we are dependent on conditions and are therefore limited. We must not be distressed if we do not obtain the results we hope for; we know that inside we have everything we need to live a life that is rich, beautiful and vast, a life that is useful to all creatures. Our thoughts and feelings reach far into space and allow us to come into contact with the entire universe, whereas our actions affect only a few people. Even the most powerful being is limited in the realm of action. But if we improve our inner world, if we strengthen it with love and faith, we will also have more and more influence over the external world."

"Truth is not an individual discovery, and humans can only claim
they have found the truth once they have succeeded in living
together in harmony. Yes, truth is not an abstract thing; it is
the expression of a state of order in which everyone is in
harmony and at peace with each other. Of course, to achieve this
requires a great deal of adjusting, adapting and fine-tuning, and
that is the work we all have to do.
You must understand, the only truth that exists is universal
truth, and therefore truth only exists within unity. And how
will this unity be manifested? When all humans feel they have
the same fundamental needs, when they experience the hardship
inflicted on others as their own suffering and the wrongs done
to others as wrongs also done to themselves. "

"Our inner difficulties are analogous to a swamp. For as long as
the swamp is not drained, we live in fog and are assailed by
mosquitoes, because the swamp provides the best conditions for
them to proliferate. Our life then becomes nothing but an
endless struggle against fog and mosquitoes.
When you see certain people struggling for years with the same
insoluble problems, displaying the same inner unrest and
complaining about the same things every day, you would like to
help them free themselves, but how? You talk to them, you
explain to them that the external situation will not change,
that it’s up to them to change, but it’s no good; they remain in
their swamp with their mosquitoes. This happens to a greater or
lesser degree, of course, but each one of us has swamps to drain
and fill, so that the mosquitoes – our anxieties and suffering –
can no longer live there."
