Status: frustrated with the site I use for work, as it's loading sloooowly today.

About Me: Raised Catholic, working my way towards Episcopalian, I think, and that's enough of that for now. I'll add more about myself later, but suffice it to say that I have a hard time believing that, if there is a hell, anyone goes to it forever. I very much view it as Madeleine L'Engle did--she, C. S. Lewis, and some others, are my Mystic-Masters, as I call them--which is, "I cannot believe that God wants punishment to go on interminably any more than does a loving parent. The entire purpose of loving punishment is to teach, and it lasts only as long as is needed for the lesson. And the lesson is always love." I'm always seeking and exploring, spiritually; I'm a Christian, and always will be, but I see pieces of Truth, at least, in all religions. I simply believe that mine has the most Truth--perhaps that's arrogant, but it's my belief, too. It doesn't mean that I think you are wrong to follow yours, though. When it comes to non-Christians and Heaven, I firmly believe it works out very much like it does in C. S. Lewis' The Last Battle. The search for God matter a great deal; because, in looking for Him, your path leads you to call him by another name, does not, to me, earn you damnation. We have perhaps, if we are lucky, five-score years on this earth; that is not, really, anywhere near enough time to start to approach a true understanding of Truth and God. Even if you are a Christian, you just being to get a glimpse of God and a grasp of understanding; God cannot be confined or DEFINIED by or to human words or human thoughts, I think.
