This story gets easier to tell the more I tell it.  A friend of mine died for me.  Even though he knew the type of person I was.  I wouldn’t have done what he did for me or anyone else.  But he says he loves me.  If I were him, I would have let that selfish, self-centered, egotistical, self-righteous man die.  But he didn’t.  No, he says he loves me.  It took a long time for me to realize exactly what he had done and why he had done it.  It was December 2002, I was on my knees, crushed by the weight of all that I had done, and didn’t do.  I felt alone and empty.  I had nothing and was nothing, I was a broke man.  That's when I met the woman who would later become my wife, she said to me that in the Bible, Proverbs 3:5&6 it says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.”  I was lost and had nothing to lose.  I put my trust in the Lord and learned more about Him.  He lifted my burdens from me and filled me with His love. He set me on the path that has led me to this point.  I found the man who died for me.  His death washed clean the man I was. His death gave me a new life, and so much more, for this I am a servant to him.  He is my Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, My Savior, My Friend.  I have Good News to give you, I can tell you about God and His Son and how He died for you too.
