About Me:
I was born down in the cotton country of middle Georgia. We have (had) a big family that was land rich, dirt poor, but blessed better than kings. There was plenty of land to roam around on growing up, three small lakes with tons of fish where no one had to be an expert angler to reel ’em in. Plenty of quail, deer, dove, turkey and the like. A growing boy could not want for more. I feel sorry for the kids growing up today who never had a chance to experience such freedom.
I was given some streptomycin injections at a very early age. Got into the dog pen, playing with the pointers and setters and got flea bites but the doctor though it was allergic rash. As a result, those injections caused me to lose my hearing just as I was entering the first grade. I refused to enter a special school, it was my way or the highway. I was a stubborn cuss even back then.
Family has always lived in Georgia: Jessup, Kite, Wrightsville, Augusta, then I attended Southern College of Technology which is part of Georgia Tech and have an architectural degree as well as civil engineering. Played baseball and tennis in college as well as basketball and have 10 letters.
I am an avid sailor and sail racer and have a FIRST 305 at Lake Lanier which I have not sailed in close to two years due to the low lake levels. I am looking forward to starting back up this spring when the wind picks up, in fact my motto is ‘Life Begins When The Wind Picks Up.’
My wife and I are members of Georgia Right To Life. I became a Christian at age 12. No doubt the Lord is going to call me to task on the final day with all this slipping and sliding. My tail looks like it just came up off fresh blacktop.
I have absolutely ZERO Political Correctness, but try to be tolerant towards everything and all people within reason.
