If you have a friend who has learned an effective listening skill, like "tracking" or "active listening" you might want to consider asking them to listen deeply to you when things come up for you. I have several friends who ask me to do just that - and I return the request as well if they know skills.

Okay, I'm going to try this. New to the internet at home so hope I improve.I like the sounds of this group and hope it picks up-sounds like not many posts lately from what I read. Interesting thoughts on communicating with those who are mentally not all with it. Not everyone is able to live in "my world" so sometimes I have to do the best I can to empathize in their's, if that makes sense.I have had depression for years and my thoughts are sometimes distorted but I still need that person who will just say "I'm sorry you're feeling bad". That alone can help.

There is evidently going to be a transition period during which we will be learning the new system. I am still trying to figure out how to create a new thread in the group and I notice that many of the old threads have vanished.
