A kaleidoscope of colors.
The green of growing things, new sprouts, graygreen lichen, a flashing neon light.
The blue fading from pale to indigo to black of the twilight sky, the color of a lovers eyes.
The
red flash of a cardinal against the winter snow, the of a bloom of a
poppy in the midst of urban decay and the color of blood.
The golden glow of life that wraps itself around me.
A symphony of music.
The playful trickling of a mountain stream, lonesome call of a loon.
The chit chit chit of a squirrel protecting it's territory, the buzzzz of a honey bee.
The
laughter of a child, the mating call of the urban cowboy BOOM BOOM
BOOMING from his truck and the breathing of a lover sleeping next to me.
The sounds of life that surrounds me.
A bouquet of scents.
The redolent wet earth, rain dripping dripping dripping onto wet cement.
The odor of a stranger walking ahead of me.
The
Indian family next door cooking, the exhaust of a school bus full of
children as it passes me on the road and the way you smelled after
mowing the grass
The perfume of life surrounds me.
The chaotic beauty of life that surrounds me
And yet...
And yet...
The blackness surrounds me.
It dulls the colors
It muffles the music
It deaden the scents.
Death surrounds me.371d36d75e05eda735858f8e467be99c
