Catholics are obliged to attend Holy Mass on the following holy days of obligation in 2008: Friday, August 15, 2008 Feast of the Assumption Monday, December 8, 2008 * Feast of the Immaculate Conception Thursday, December 25, 2008 Feast of the Nativity of the Lord Catholics are obliged to attend Holy Mass on the following holy days of obligation in 2009: Thursday, January 1, 2009 Feast of Mary the Mother of God Sunday, November 1, 2009 Feast of All Saints Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Feast of the Immaculate Conception Friday, December 25, 2009 Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Observance of the Feast of the Ascension is transferred to the Seventh Sunday of Easter. Since the Feast of All Saints, November 1, 2008, and the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 2009, are on Saturdays, there is no obligation to attend Holy Mass on these days.
