    Mothers Do It All

    Sunday, May 11, 2014, 10:31 AM [General]

This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with

sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with

Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying,

                "It's okay honey, Mommy's here."

Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end

soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.

This is for all them mothers who show up at work with

spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses

                and diapers in their purse.

For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies

and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers

                who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll

never see. And the mothers who took those babies and

               gave them homes.

This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are

               hanging on their refrigerator doors.

And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal

bleachers at football or soccer games instead of watching

from the warmth of their cars.

And that when their kids asked "Did you see me, Mom?"

they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for

                the world," and mean it.

This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the

grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp

their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for

all the mothers who count to ten instead.

This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children

and explained all about having  babies. And for all the

(grand)mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the

               words.

This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children

               can eat.

For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a

night for a year. And then read it again, "Just on more time."

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie

their shoelaces before they started school.

And for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead.

This is for all the mothers who teach their daughters to

cook and their sons to sink a jump shot.

This is for every mother whose head turns automatically

when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even thought

they know their own offspring are at home--or even away

at college-or have their own families.

This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school

with stomach aches, assuring them they'd be just FINE

once they got there, only to get calls from the school

nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up.

               Right away.

This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who

can't find the words to reach them.

For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when

their 14 year olds dye their hair green.

For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings,

and the mothers of those who did the shooting.

For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in

front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came

               home from school, safely.

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be

peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.

What makes a good Mother anyway?? Is it patience?

Compassion? Broad hips? The ability to nurse a baby,

cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same

time? Or is it in her Heart?? Is it the ache you feel when

you watch your son or daughter disappear down the

street, walking to school alone for the very first time??

The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to

crib at 2 AM to put your hand on the back of a sleeping

               baby?

The panic, years later, that comes again at 2AM when

you just hear their key in the door and know they are

               safe again in your home?

The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our

thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through

diaper changes and sleep deprivation.... And mature

               mothers learning to let go.

For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.

               Single mothers and married mothers.

               Mothers with money, mothers without.

This is for all. For all of us . . . . . Hang in there. In the end

we can only do the best we can. Tell them everyday that

we love them. And pray and never stop being a mom.

To every mother I wish you a

                    Another Mother's Day is here,

                    Bringing joy and pleasure new.

On this special day, Mother dear,

                    I want to remember you.

I cannot give you costly gifts,

And I've told you this before,

No matter what I give you,

You give back much, much more.

I'm giving you a pure, sweet rose,

                    Gathered in the early morn,

This rose you planted in my heart,

The day that I was born.

In kindly, loving thoughts of you,

And with the faith you still impart,

The rose I give to you today

Is the love that's in my heart.

Even so it shall be in that day when they shall see all

these things then shall they know that the hour in nigh.

And it shall come to pass that he that feareth me shall

be looking forth for that great day of the Lord to come,

even for the signs of the coming of the Son of Man.

And they shall see signs of wonders for they shall be

shown forth in heavens above, and the earth beneath.

    God's Wrath Against Mankind

    Saturday, May 3, 2014, 3:28 AM [General]

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against

all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress

the truth by their wickedness,  since what may be known

about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain

to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible

qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been

clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,

so that men are without excuse. For although they knew

God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to

him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish

hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise,

they became fools and exchanged the glory of the

immortal God for images made to look like mortal man

and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave

them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual

impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one

           another.

They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped

and served created things rather than the Creator--who

            is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.

Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural

ones.  In the same way the men also abandoned natural

relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one

another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and

received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain

the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved

mind, to do what ought not to be done.

They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil,

           greed and depravity.

They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They

are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and

boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their

parents,  they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

Although they know God's righteous decree that those who

do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do

these very things but also approve of those who practice

           them.

    About Lent

    Friday, March 14, 2014, 3:55 PM [General]

Lent is an important season in the Church's year. Every

year Christians use Lent to prepare themselfs for the

death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, on Easter Sunday

                                        When Is Lent

Lent is the forty days before Easter. Christians do not

include Sundays in the forty days because they celebrate

Jesus's resurrection every Sunday. Lent begins on

Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday.

    To Grow Spiritually

    Saturday, March 8, 2014, 11:28 AM [General]

Who are kept by the power of God through faith for

salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little

while, if need be, you have been grieved by various

trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much

more precious than gold that perishes, though it is

tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and

glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having

not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him,

yet believing, you rejoice with inexpressible and

           full of glory.

    Patience

    Wednesday, February 26, 2014, 10:17 PM [General]

Lord, being patient isn't  easy. We all have agendas

for when things should happen, and I really get

frustrated when they don't. Patience will come to me,

I know when I'm truly surrendered to You. So here

I am, God. Do what You want in my life, in Your time,

           in Your way.

                                                                    Amen
