Enlightenment & Awakening Shakti

    Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 10:12 PM [General]

    "You cannot bring
    anything into this moment.

    You try and bring
    anything into this moment,
    you will miss it.

    This moment is so tiny
that you cannot even fit into

    this moment.

You can only dissolve in it.

    Yet this moment is

    so vast,
    that everything
    arises out of it.

    You and all of your
    thoughts, emotions and physicality
    and everything else

    arises out of it
without ever being separate from it.

    Everything arises
    and is burned away
    in the Shakti energy
    that is this moment.

    You allow it to arise
    and to be burned away.

If there is nothing there of you
    except the allowing,
    then you are everything,
    you are Shakti itself.

    The dreams arise in Shakti
    and the content
    of those dreams
    dissolve back into Shakti.

    Everything arises out of Shakti
    and disappears back into Shakti,
resting back into its natural state.

If your attention is fully grounded
    in feeling Shakti,
if you fully realize the flow of energy

that is the essence of life,
    then the underlying feeling of
    all experience is infinite peace.

    It cannot be otherwise.

    If the salt
    has realized the ocean,
it does not fear the water,
    it happily dissolves in it.

    It knows that is
    the greatest joy.

To be salt and salt water
    and see no barrier
    between the two:
    that is enlightenment.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

How to Transcend Resistance in Meditation

    Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 9:38 PM [General]

    "If you are lucky enough
    in meditation,
you will come to the point
where you cannot take it anymore.

    You will come right up
    against your resistance
    to this moment
    and will feel that
    you have to get up,
    you have to distract yourself
    from this moment.

    If you don't stand
up and run to the kitchen
    to eat a cookie,
    you will scratch your nose.

If you do not scratch your nose,
you will wiggle around in your seat.

If you do not wiggle in your seat,
you will distract yourself with your thinking.

    You will judge the meditation
    as a failure,
that you did not get the bliss
    that you got yesterday
and you will run away from it.

    It is the natural response,
because it is not just that you
    are resistant to this moment,
    you are the resistance
    to this moment.

    You exist as the resistance
    to this moment.

    And so the challenge is
    in meditation
    when you find yourself
    in resistance,
    can you find a way
    within yourself
    to surrender yourself
    completely to this moment.

    Can you find a way
    to give yourself up
so that there is only this moment.

    Because stress and conflict
    can only exist between

    two separate things.

If you can find a way
    at a subtle level
    to surrender this you
that is separate from this moment,
this you that is in conflict
    with this moment,
then all that will be left
    is this moment.

    All that will be left
    is awareness.
    There will be no more
    resistance.

    Then you learn to remain
    as formlessness.
    You learn how to be
    without having to contract
    into being you.

    It is in this
    you learn real intimacy
    with this moment.

    If you approach this moment
with your spiritual beliefs and knowledge

    and all the judgments

    that come with that,

    If you approach this moment
as a person trying to get something
    out of this moment,
you will never reach this moment.

    Like two oppositely charged magnets
    you will forever repel
    your own true self.

    But if you are willing

    to give it all up
    even just for this moment
    then you will discover
    true peace and freedom.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

    Realizing Peace

    Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 11:03 PM [General]

    "Underneath
    every thought,
    every feeling,
    every sensation
    and every movement
    is unconditional peace.

    It is this peace
    that makes everything else
    possible.

    It is the foundation
    of all experience.

    The Secret to Attaining Bliss

    Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:01 PM [General]

    "Wherever you turn your attention
    you become.

    You keep your attention
    fixed on your problems,
    your knowledge,
    your desires,
    your judgments,

then that is what you experience
    yourself to be.
    That is your prison.

    All of your energy
    drains into that.

But if you want to awaken
to what is beyond the "me.",
    then you allow the "me"
to be as it is and
    you allow your attention
    to relax beyond it.

    You may focus
    on a mantra, a guru,
    the shakti (spiritual energy)
    the feeling of being
    or even just the breath,

    and then you realize
    yourself to be that.

    Even simply by allowing yourself
to be as you are and witnessing
    that happening,
    you move beyond yourself,
    you become the witness.

Not in the negation of yourself
but in the relaxation of yourself.

    You see,
    you are always
getting caught up in the idea
that you are your thinking mind.

    You experience life
    from the presumption
that the thinking mind is what you are.

    And from that presumption
    you try and solve
    an equation
that only exists in the mind.

    So trying to solve
    the equation
only keeps you stuck in the mind.

    Trying to change yourself
    into something different
    simply keeps you bound
    to the me,
    it even keeps you bound
    to the non-acceptance of me
    which is suffering.

    So just allow the me
    to be as it is.

    You allow the thoughts
    and feelings and sensations
    to be as they are
    and you let it go.

    Even just in this allowing
you get to the essence of what is here.

You see that the whole universe
is lighting you up as you are
    in this moment.

The whole universe is in you
    and as you.

You do not need to become
    the whole universe.

    You simply have to allow
yourself to be as you are,
allow everything to be as it is,

    and let your attention
    expand beyond the thinking mind
    into that which is infinite,
    formless and serene.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

How to Attain No Mind in Meditation

    Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 9:36 PM [General]

    "In meditation
    try letting go
    of every thought
    that arises.

    Do not try and push
    the thoughts away.
    Rather, stop grabbing
    hold of them.

    Or if you already
have grabbed hold of the thought,
    stop holding on to it.

Let it go on its own
    and in this way
    you can learn to stop
    grabbing hold of the thoughts
    in the first place.

    By doing this,
    thoughts will run
    their course
    like a spinning wheel
    that loses its momentum
and may even come to a halt.

When you grab hold of thoughts
    you have a position,
    you have a fixed point
    of reference.

    But when you do not
hold on to thoughts at all,
    when they can arise
    without you ever touching them,
or when they stop on their own,
    then you have no position.
    You have no fixed point
    of reference.

    You do not experience
    yourself as anything.

    There can be no definition,
    no perspective.

You cannot say you are here
you cannot say you are not here.
    It is a freedom beyond
    all understanding.

    There is consciousness
but there is no one there
that can claim to be consciousness
    or to call it consciousness.

    It is pure
    and silent.

    And when you enter back
    into the mind,
    some of this purity
    and silence
    comes back with it
    and washes through
    your body and mind.

    And once you get used
    to remaining in this void
    of no mind,
    you will want to keep
    coming back to it.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

The Simple Path to Spiritual Awakening

    Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 11:36 PM [General]

    "The path
    to spiritual awakening
really does not have to be
    complicated.

    You simply
    with an open mind
    find the practices
    that you experience
    a greater awakening
    into bliss
    and you practice them.

    You should try everything;
    from breathing exercises,
    to mantra, to chanting
    to various methods of meditation
    and everything in between.

    And when you find practices
    that help awaken
    the bliss that is beyond
    all beliefs and ideas
    then you follow those practices.

    You give yourself
    wholeheartedly
    to them.

    Perhaps at first
    you do not feel bliss,
perhaps at first it is difficult,
    it is challenging,
    it is uncomfortable.

But somewhere in sticking with it,
    you might recognize
    something profound happening,
    something very subtle
    awakening inside you
    that attracts you
    and that attraction
    will lead you to bliss.

    And once you find ways
    to awaken the bliss
    you are home free.

    Then the door is open
    to your awakening.

    Whether you find it
in repeating the name of a Guru,
    repeating a mantra,
    breathing a certain way,
    practicing a certain
    meditation technique,

    no matter what it is
    if it awakens the bliss
    then all the teachings
    will not matter.

    All of the different philosophies
    and spiritual debates
    will become obsolete.

All of your problems and worries
    will no longer affect you
    in the same way.

    Because you have found
a method to awaken the bliss
    and that bliss transcends everything.

And simply by being in that bliss,
    everything gets done,
    everything gets taken care of.
It nurtures you and loves you
    like no person ever can.

Just by giving your full attention to bliss,
or to the practice that awakens the bliss,
    you are fulfilled.

    But don't give it halfway.

    Don't give your attention
    a back door
    to slip away
    back into doubts
    and intellectual debate.

    Rather,
    give yourself to the practice
    until there is nothing
    left to give.
    Until even the practice goes.
    Even the bliss may go.

And then there is only what is.
    The simplicity of the moment.

    And that is even more
    delightful than the bliss.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

    Enlightenment & Self Inquiry

    Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 9:25 PM [General]

    "The new age/self help
    industry is often about
    building yourself up.

    Making yourself
    more special
    more successful,
    more liked,
    more confident.

    And there is nothing
    wrong with this.

    But enlightenment
    is the opposite.

    Enlightenment is about
    allowing the facade
    to fall apart.

    When you allow the idea
of who you think you are
    to crumble,
    then all that is left
    is consciousness.

When all hope is lost, then
you have nowhere else to go
    but here.

    If there is hope
    and confidence that
the sun will come out tomorrow,
    you will not surrender
    in this moment.

    It is only when you
    have let go of everything
    in this moment
    that you realize peace.

    In the relinquishment
of your idea of who you are,
    what you know
    and how things
    are supposed to be,

    when your self image
    has been broken,
    then there is stillness;

    then automatically
    unconditional love, peace
    and bliss shine forth
out of every pore of your being
and you discover your true nature.

    You radiate peace.

    Peace and love that
    is so divinely exquisite that
    you willingly give away everything
    that arises to it.

    Not because you get something
    out of it,
    but out of love,
    out of joy.

    You cannot experience
such joy if you have built yourself up
    into something important.

The higher you build a building,
    the harder it will be
    to dig underneath it.

    That is not to say
    you should not be successful.

You can be all of those things.

    But the 'you' that claims
    responsibility for it,
    the one that claims
    ownership of it,
    the one that thinks
    they know themselves:

    That is the one
    that is hiding
the true nature of this moment
    from you.

And that is the one you
    need to look into
and see what is really there.

    Who is this 'you'
    that you claim to know.

    And when you find yourself
    without an answer,
    then you are moving in
    the right direction.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

Allowing the Flow of Shakti in Meditation

    Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 9:38 PM [General]

    "Everything is energy.

    Your thoughts are energy,
    your feelings are energy,
    your reactions are energy.

    Every happening
    is a movement of energy,
it is the play of Shakti.

    So every time you try
    and resist something
    that is arising,
    you are resisting Shakti.
    You are repressing
    the natural flow of bliss.

    Trying to disassociate yourself
    with your experience
is just another form or resistance.

To try and not be affected
    by situations
    is just closing yourself off
from the very thing you are seeking.

    So with anything that arises,
    whether it be a situation,
    a thought or a feeling,
    just allow it, welcome it.

    We are not looking
    to become unaffected.
    Rather we are looking
    to be completely affected.

    Not in the sense
    of dramatizing it.
    Not in the sense of
    identifying with it
    or owning it
    or becoming involved with it
    in any way.

    You neither
    associate with it
    nor you disassociate with it.

    You simply come to
    the point of full surrender
that you see it is simply
    arising on its own.
    You feel it arising
    as the flow of energy
    that is animating everything.

    And then your attention
rests in feeling that flow of energy
    that is thinking,
not the content of the thinking.

    The mind is always
    caught up in content.
Seeing the content of the thoughts
    rather than experiencing the energy
    that is thinking.

    You simply have to allow
    everything to flow
    unhindered to the point
    where you experience it all
    as a flow of energy.

    Then it does not matter
    what emotions are there,
    what thoughts are arising.
    You experience the same
    flow of energy in everything.

And the experience of that flow
    of energy is peace,
    is bliss
    is love.

    Try and control peace
    in any way
and it will slip away from you.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

    Enlightened Sensitivity in Meditation

    Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 8:17 PM [General]

    "When we were born
    we were sensitive to everything.

But as we began to feel things
    like hurt, sadness, rejection,
we began to block that sensitivity.

    We began to contract
    and separate ourselves
    from our experience.

    Every experience of resisting pain
gets wound up tight in knots
    and this becomes our identity.

    We begin to experience
ourselves as this hard outer shell
    that nothing can penetrate.

    Our own little
    battle station.

    And then we lose
    our ability to feel alive.
    We lose our ability
    to experience life.

    In deep meditation,
    these knots begin
    to become unraveled.

    The hard outer core
that we have defined ourselves to be
    starts to become undone.

    All the ways we learned
    to protect ourselves
    are surrendered
    and again we become sensitive.

    We become sensitive
    to everything;
    we start to feel everything.

    Not in the sense
    of getting lost
    in emotional drama,
    although that may happen
    at times.

But in the sense of letting go of
    the mind's interpretation
    of this moment
    and actually experiencing
    what is here
    prior to that interpretation.

    By feeling this moment directly,
    without letting the rational mind
    interfere with your recognition
    of what is here.

    If you are justifying something,
    then you are resisting something
    that is here.

    You have your walls up.

    But the more you can
    allow sensitivity to be,
    to feel everything
    without trying to protect yourself,
    shield yourself,
    place yourself above it,

    then this humble sensitivity
    brings you back
    to your natural state.

    Your natural state
    of unconditional peace.

    You become so
    vulnerable to life,
    the sense of being
    a separate 'you' falls away
and then there is only life,

    living everything
    as everything.

    Blessings,

    Kip"

How to Experience Oneness with This Moment

    Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 11:37 PM [General]

"One way to look at meditation
is that you are letting go
of your separation with this moment.

You are letting go of the notion
that there is a you that is separate
    from this moment.

And this is not a path of negation
    where you deny yourself,
    but rather it is acceptance.

    Whatever you accept,
    you move beyond.

    Whatever you resist or desire
    holds your focus.
    Your attention remains
    locked on that.

So if you are trying to meditate
    and you don't like
    the smell in the room,
then your attention will never move
    beyond not liking that smell.

    The moment you accept
you do not like the smell,
you move beyond the not liking.
Then the moment you accept the smell,
    you move beyond the smell.

    Through acceptance
    at the level of feeling/sensation,
    you keep moving through
all of the various layers of experience
    from the outer experiences
to the inner and more subtle
    experiences.

    Through accepting your body,
    your attention moves
    beyond the body.

    Through accepting your thinking
    your attention moves
    beyond the thinking.

    It keeps moving
    beyond all of these layers
until you get to the essence
    of this moment
    which is beyond
    the individual experience.

    You start with the acceptance
    of your individual/personal experience
    but in that acceptance
    your attention expands beyond
    the personal.

    You get to the energetic
    experience that everything
    simply is.

    And when you experience
    that you and this moment
    and everything else
    arises in and as
    this same is-ness,
    then all conflict ceases.

    You relax into the oneness
    of this moment
    and from this oneness
    you awaken into
    what cannot be described
    in words.

    Blessings,

    Kip"
