Sorry folks, BNet has a glitch that is preventing us from posting new blog entries in the "Parable of the Week" series. Perhaps someday the site folks will get back to us on a workaround, but meanwhile, the Parables are still posted weekly at www.circleofreason.org.
Thanks, Frank Burton (BCOR moderator)
The new B'net hosts say they're still working to restore all past BCOR threads and posts.
And ignore the above "last post" dates for the most recent Group Forum threads -- these dates don't update correctly (one more problem B'net is working on), making our forum look less frequented than it is.
The posts may not be retrievable. I'm going to give Beliefnet a couple of weeks to see if the forum posts and my profile are fixed. I don't have a problem navigating the site or the ads. But they lost a tremendous amount of information. Who's running this pop-stand anyway? I suspect it's gender related.
Ranked by number of posts? So that old talked out subjects are put for ease of access but just started one post subjects are hidden from view? What genius was in charge of that charlie foxtrot?
Dear Beliefnet Circle of Reason (BCOR) visitors,
If you are just joining us from www.circleofreason.org or from Minneapolis' Secular Bible Study Meetup.com group, this site is, like all the Beliefnet discussion forums, suffering major content losses from B'net's total reformat begun just a few days ago.
I'm working on getting B'net to recover for us our missing threads from last month and our many missing posts on almost every thread from last year; and on restoring an accurate member list and our group's original URL/bookmark for the BCOR site. I still don't know if all our threads on BCOR will ultimately be restored to their original chronological listing, rather than being ranked by number of posts.
Keep checking in during early March, everybody -- and if you have tips to restore some semblance of functionality to this format, please chime in. Meanwhile we will move onward for now, with new threads such as our Timely Topic #23(-ish), the "Mr. Spock Defense" by the Craigslist Killer -- or, "Is logic, not empathy, sufficient to become moral?"
Finally, we appear to have around 30 new "conscripted" members (such as Dr. Judea Pearl and colleagues, at least some of whom must have been moved here from the now-missing B'net group, "Muslim-Christian Discussion Group" -- which I hope you can restore!), and perhaps BCOR has some lost members as well, due to B'net's shuffling our names and memberships around. Apologies to all as you try to sort out and restore your group affiliations and content during this major B'net reformat. (Of course, as a group devoted to interfaith -- and religious + non-religious -- dialogue, BCOR happily welcomes any and all such "accidental conscripts" from the Muslim-Christian Discussion group or others to volunteer to remain with us, as well. You are most welcome here.)
I see they made more room for ads, that is the most obvious and only change of note so far...
OMG! I thought it wasn't possible to hate BNet more that I hated it before... but I do.
If anybody wants to see how what a decent online community looks like, come to
Surely this realm you find yourself in is Hell.
Escape while you can.
Sorry, guess I should not have pushed the button.....
Wow! It's like a new world......and everybody's hiding after the nuclear distaster...or vaporized!
