                                               Laughing at the word two

OnlyThat Illumined

One

Who keeps
Seducing the formless into form

Had the charm to win my
Heart.

Only a Perfect One

Who is always
Laughing at the word
Two

Can make you know

Of

Love.

I hope this isn't too arrogant of me, but I wanted to post this poem that I wrote years ago.  Sharing of Ourselves is a great joy for me, so here it is again, me.

                    Each Day

Each day begins and ends the same,

Minute by minute we play the game,

To know direction and find no shame,

Lift up your banner and place no blame.

The choice is made, the direction is set,

The journey begins, let the challenge be met,

To live this life, and incur no debt,

Be true dear heart it's not over yet.

Walk your path with head held high,

Knowledge is gained when you kiss the sky,

Lighten your load and prepare to fly,

For love is here now, not by and by.

Touch your heart and feel your soul,

Express your love, there is no toll,

Enjoy this life, this love, the whole,

Experience it all, that is the goal.

Whatever the question Love is the answer

very lovely dear, thank you for bringing this back to our awareness.  here's one i found today that i wanted to share here, by one many of us adore:

The  Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new  arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness  comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be  clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame,  the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a  guide from beyond.

Try To Love The World

Do not try
To change the world.
You will fail.
Try to love the world.
Lo, the world is changed,
Changed forever.

I like it!!!  It is very nice and when it comes to people 2 is definitely better than one.

hi michelle!  glad you liked these wise words of the sage - and i agree, having 'another' in our lives makes a big difference!  both in the positive aspect of companionship and closeness as well the challenges we invariably experience in seeing in to the mirror of 'ourslef'  -  which is great for discerning which areas of our lives are working the way we would like, and which are not.  we also get to examine where we are from all sorts of perspectives, such as, does this person cause me to love myself more or possibly less?  do i find that i love others in my life even more now that this person shares my life?  do i gain more of myself in their presence or am i diminished and feel beholden for their company and attention?

just rambling here dear, and am truly pleased to have you back amongst 'Ourself'!

Self

Nothing beyond yourself

can make you fearful or loving,

because nothing is beyond you.

Seek not outside yourself.

The search implies you are not whole within.

There is nothing outside you.

That is what you must ultimately learn.

Deep within you

is everything that is perfect,

ready to radiate through you

and out into the world.

In you is all of Heaven.

Nothing you do or think or wish or make

is necessary to establish your worth.

Light and joy and peace abide in you.

"I am as God created me."

This one thought would be enough

to save you and the world,

if you believed that it is true.

H.R., i admire so much that you can write prose & poetry.  i can only quote the ones i like:

The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith

People are  illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you  do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good  anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true  enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten  tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you  vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with  the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the  smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow  only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years  building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need  help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give  the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the  world the best you have anyway.

Oh, oddray, thank you but I didn't write that.  I quoted it from a book called "Accept this Gift" selections from A Course in Miracles.  I cited the source at the end but guess I didn't make it clear enough.  I love the prose/poem you just posted, I thought Mother Teresa had said that, or at least a version of it, I find it very encouraging.

well that only goes to prove that i am blind and forgetful.  i am familiar with the Course, my husband and myself went thru it one year a few years ago!  AND my compliment still stands, as it is cumulative.  you've left a lot of little things here and there that i have been In-joying!
