Group Details

This is a group for people who recognize in a profoundly personal way that we are all actually facets of one whole interacting with itself, or more accurately, Ourself. It is a place for peer discussion and exploration as we move through the challenges and insights we encounter while participating in the awakening of ourselves to our common fundamental identity, Ourself. As indivisible aspects of the single, infinitely diverse entity of everything/reality/creation we all have an opportunity and a responsibility to deepen humankind's awareness of Ourself, and to enrich our language with new terminology/ideas to more accurately portray that which truly is. We want to support each other as we discover wholeness while living in a society that defines everything (including God) as separate when in fact the creator and creation (including all people, animals, plants, minerals, and seen and unseen forces of spirit) are not in any actual way separate. So don't be shy... your vantage point of the whole is completely unique, and is just as valid and important as anybody elses. Enlightenment is the recognition of the wholeness, which by its very all-inclusive nature negates the validity of any kind of exclusive spiritual authority or guru. To allow ourselves to truly feel and be aware of ourselves as part of the great wholeness we need to stop putting others on a pedestal as a way of avoiding being accountable for shining our own light. Let's get the orchestra of the wholeness playing diversely, brilliantly, and powerfully enough to wake up humankind from the illusion of separateness. We can only accomplish this as a community of distinct voices and insights singing out in the harmony of the whole, and not by silencing our own special voice because we have decided some other "enlightened" teacher has a monopoly on authenticity! So sing out your insights, your questions... cry out your pains and frustrations... and love your neighbor as yourself because in truth they are; we are all precious dimensions of one whole. Let's respectfully, gently, and lovingly be Ourself together.

PLease folks, Look carefully at the post from Sir Paul regarding a sum of 6.5 Million Dollars. Then think carefully about what are the chances of the story's legitimacy.

I have heard of this "Scam" before, by several names, and in several countries, and several versions, but be assured it's a scam that we want nothing to do with!

It's sad that people in many countries are so very desparate as to have to try to figure out ways to cheat people out of their family's funds. But that appears to be the truth about it.

What to do? Well we can report "the Scam" being posted here, we can ignore it, and be sure we dont go near it! Or we can make a silly and monumental mistake by engaging with the "Sir Pauls" of this world, and risk losing every penny we and our friends and family have or will have.

The choice is ours! Love to all, dusty

Welcome RabidWriter! And welcome RabidWriter, Rev Dorris (one of our longest standing members, and a consistently positive and constructive leader), and Oddray (who has also been part of this very open minded group as a consistent voice of support, positive reframing, insightful offering, and humorous and loving connection) as our three new moderators! Thankfully, it was very easy to add you by "promoting" you as members. Let's all hope it is a positive thing for everyone concerned, and I look forward so much to being able to visit as a member amongst members here in this delightful group of "being-ers" (the thing that happens when you realize you don't need to seek for anything, it is right here just waiting to be blended with, and celebrated). Thanks above all goes to Dusty and all of you members who have been caring so carefully for this weakened group-- largely weakened by things beyond all of our control, like beliefnet itself changing (and the online groups becoming so ghost-town like as an immediate and obvious result)-- Student of Many Paths has many paths' wisdom to share, and he embraced me and Sara as family, and he called me today to say "we have willing and able volunteers, what a gift for you Ty, you can receive support, respite" (can't honestly remember the exact words, but they felt so right and validating Dusty. Thanks man) Well, so anyways, I'm so thankful to this group, and for Dusty contacting me to tell me their was new life, like an ancient bonsai with a new limb growing, and waiting to be modelled and cared for with wire and clippers... in other words, get folks who want to help on board as moderators to keep the group atmosphere clean and pure... full of love and friendship, exploration and so much more. In short, keepin it real. Thanks so much all, Ty

This seems to be the only group I've joined that is still active. Does anyone have any perspective to offer a 38 year old lifelong athiest and/or agnostic about converting to Reform Judaism? My husband is a confirmed athiest and we have no children and do not want children, so I'm on my own on this. I've been doing lots of studying on my own (actually, I've been studying Judaism since I was about 11; this seems like the next inevitable step. Any thoughts or guidance?

Back so soon? Yeah. I'm a Gemini, what can I say. The previous post I added here (just below on the bulletin board) was an attempt to apologize for not having been active all summer as contributor or moderator. It was also an necessary relinquishing of responsibility for the group because I feel so overwhelmed by my responsibilities to my family, friends, and clients as a therapist. However, the one Gemini twin's strong assertion that I'm leaving the internet for good, and beliefnet was necessarily out of balance and overassertive. So here I am, other Gemini twin, back to say again, I'm sorry for disappearing for so long, and further, that I'd like to leave things more open endedly than the previous message. I don't have the time or energy to be checking in and posting daily, weekly, or sometimes even monthly. Also, I don't have time to proactively moderate every thread on this group. However, if anything abusive starts going on you can always follow the beliefnet protocol for inappropriate posting (contacting beliefnet staff, "report member", etc.). I hope anyone who agrees with the introduction to this group will be compassionate enough to refrain from bashing others here, but I know there have been some past problems, so as I said, contact beliefnet if you feel abused here.

Having said all of that, I would like ALL of us, including myself, to feel free to post any thoughts, feelings, or insights that we feel compelled to share with a community of like minds, without any obligation to stick around to chat about it afterwards if our lives are demanding and busy. I guess what I feel like we all need is permission to share when we are compelled to share and to be silent when we feel to be silent. I have been feeling a combination of guilt and pressure all summer because I wasn't writing here. So I needed to dump that off my back (hence the previous message). Having done that I realize I don't want to close the door to beliefnet and this incredible community in the Being Ourself group, I just needed to establish permission for myself to be absent when my attention and time are needed elsewhere. So thanks for your ongoing acceptance and forgiveness, and thanks for all your love and wisdom. Let's keep sharing our positive insights, refrain from judging one anothers' posts, and enjoy being Ourself interacting with ourselves as an awesome online group.
Peace and many wishes for your joy and prosperity in all dimensions as parts of this amazing whole,
    Ty
