“All complex things decay...work out your own salvation with diligence”
-Buddha's dying words
The reason why I became a Spiritual Coach, and do the work that I do, is because I am working hard to bring God back to the forefront of people's minds and lives.
And even as you read that, you probably reacted in one of two ways: if you are a religious person, it probably filled you with some sort of pride about 'your side winning'. And if you are a non-religious person, it may have made you roll your eyes in semi-disgust. So if you are still reading, I appreciate it!
The fact is, over the centuries, quite a lot of damage has been done to this world 'in the name of God'; and there are some who would try and paint our current political and military conflicts with the same white...
A little while back, I had an unusual request from a young friend of mine.
She told me she wanted me to write her a letter for her birthday; but not just email it, write it and mail it the old fashion way.
So I worked hard to figure out what was the right thing to say to a young woman on her 17th birthday, and the end result you can see below. I am sharing it with you all now (with her permission) because even though you are probably a bit past 17, 99% of it is relevant at any age.
To Cha “Future Girl” Esper on her 17th Birthday
First, let me say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I have to confess; I have started this letter about ten times and had to start over since it didn't say everything I wanted to say...because I didn't know what I wanted to say!
So I will do my best to tell...
The Root of pain is Attachment; this is the second Noble Truth.
This might come as a surprise, but Los Angeles has quite a few bitter, unhappy people in it. Because for whatever reason, their goals have not manifested in the time and way that they would like.
And along with an understandable sense of disappointment, comes an inevitable desire to know 'why'. Why did this happen, or why didn't it?
Why has God / the Universe abandoned them?
But the fact of the matter is, no such thing has happened.
I'd like to talk more about how we form our attachments, how to make new and better decisions that will serve you, rather than work against you.
We talked before about how to be committed without being attached, and that is an important idea to keep in mind;...
“Concern should drive us into action and not into a depression. No man is free who cannot control himself.”
There is a world of difference between someone who is a bit down in the dumps, or says they are depressed, and someone with a real diagnosable illness.
Real depression requires real treatment, so I don’t want to be irresponsible and make it seem like it's all the same. If you aren't sure which you have, talk to a professional.
For now, I want to talk a bit more about 'normal', non-chemical imbalance depression, and how to get a handle on your 'negative' emotions.
I'll let you in on a 'secret': there is no such thing as negative emotions.
Some of them feel better than others, of course; but they all have their place..
So I'd like...
“Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.”
We’ve talked about the Law of Attraction a couple of times already; now let’s look at it a little deeper.
An important thing to remember, is the Law of Attraction is ALWAYS working.
You are always, ALWAYS attracting *something * 24 hours a day, the only two questions are: are you doing it consciously or unconsciously, and are you attracting what you want, or what you don't want?
An easy way to know what the answer is, is to look around at your results.
Are things getting better and better for you, or are they staying the same? Or, God forbid, are they getting worse?
Remember, the Law CAN NOT fail; the only problems...
"Money isn't the most important thing, but it's right up there gotta have it scale."
A criticism I recently heard was that The Secret was all about having 'things' and not about being happy.
Personally, I think anyone who thinks that wasn't paying attention when they watched the movie!
There are quite a few ways to be 'wealthy', and the most important of which don't involve money at all!
In my book, 49 Lost Secrets of Peace, Love, and Money I explained how life can be broken down into 7 categories:
Peace with the Body
Peace with the Mind
Peace with the Family (including everyone you know)
Peace with the Culture (including all forms of learning and knowledge)
Peace with the Earthly Mother (the natural world and our place in it)
Peace with the
"Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” -Lao Tzu
I have said many times that you know, right now in your heart, what you want and what it is you were sent into the world to do. If you feel like you *don't* really know what you want, keep reading!
Everyone comes into this world with certain lessons to learn and tasks to accomplish, this should be especially obvious to my Brothers and Sisters who believe in reincarnation. The way you know what it is you want / are supposed to accomplish, is it is that still, small voice inside if you that says things like:
“I want to be a singer”, or
“I want to be a painter”, or
“I want to be an actor”, etc. It is the
“We hope vaguely, but dread precisely.”
I just wanted to write a short post on how to break the habit of worrying.
Really, worry is more than a habit, it is an addiction. If you don't know how we can get addicted to emotions, I HIGHLY recommend you watch 'What The Bleep Do We Know; you can see it for free here (you'll need to download their player first, but it's free as well).
If you consider yourself to be a person of faith, then please recognize that you can have faith, OR you can worry, but not both. When you worry, you are telling God and / or the Universe that they can't handle your situation, so you need to come up with an answer. When the dust settles, you either trust God *completely* to provide your needs, or not at all.
If you are...
“See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled”
-Hebrews 12:15 ESV
I just wanted to write a quick something about how you can use your emotions as allies, and manifest your goals and desires more quickly.
Tony Robbins has done a lot of great work with emotions, and here is a video where explains them and how to use them in great detail. What I want to talk about, however, is how to turn your feelings into friends and helpers, rather than blocks.
Let's say you want to manifest money, doesn't matter how much; can be $100 or $1,000,000. But, you don't actually want money, no one does. Money is a tool; it allows you to do or have something, it is a 'how'...

8 Steps To Total Self-Confidence
Step 1. Decide what God looks like
-If you don't think God loves you, you will never truly love yourself. If you don't believe in God at all that's fine, it means you shouldn't feel any guilt or unworthiness either way!
Step 2. Ask yourself, is there anyone on earth that you'd be willing to switch places with 100%. You'd get their fame and fortune, but also all of their problems. And you'd have to give up ALL your friends, family, and everything you've ever known. Would you do it?
Step 3. List everything you are truly grateful for.
As you know, gratitude is the cornerstone
