I joined Beliefnet because I want to become more of the spiritual person I believe I am.  For about 25 years I have been fascinated with Buddhism and am currently seeking a teacher.  I realized about 10 years ago that this is what I want and currently I am actually do it.

Hopefully this will allow me to connect with other spiritual questers and Buddhists.  In my small town there isn't much of a Buddhist presence and what the tradition that is here, while it is one I have attended, is not one I am now comfortable with due to controversies that have become known to me.  I jumped in with both feet here without researching enough.  Now I'd have to travel up to an hour to attend anything, so hopefully I'll be able to connect here and it will help me progress in my spiritual travels.
